Works for me.
Works better than other products I have tried. Lathers well and leaves no unwanted odor. I'll continue to use it.

Works well for psoriasis and bad dandruff
Works really well. Does not smell good but I didn’t expect tar to smell like roses. This stuff works wonders! Just be sure to use a good moisturizing conditioner even if you have short hair. I use this once or twice a week for scalp psoriasis and let it soak for three minutes before rinsing This works well on the scalp but can be drying on the hair. I like Hask Argon oil conditioner or Shea Moisture conditioner

Seems to help, but packaging needs work.
I do think its helping, but it's very runny, making it difficult to make it to my scalp without losing a portion of it. Also the lid on the tube leaks. Money down the drain - literally.

Disgusting last resort miracle worker
Definitely recommend this item for severe scalp psorasis or eczema -- it's the cleanest my scalp has ever looked -- but with caveats. First, only buy this as last resort. If you haven't already tried things like T-Sal, Nizoral, Delsum, etc, don't get this yet. Because it has the highest percentage of coal tar active on the market, the scent is extreme. You will smell like a vat of napthalene from across the room, no way around it. You cannot use this shampoo and then go to work same day. It's necessary to help a medical condition but I wish it weren't. It will also stain your shower surface if you don't put something underneath it because of the low viscosity...I wish they'd make the bottle opening on the top to avoid this. Will also dry your hair out quite a bit, so I pair with a mild conditioner. It works way, way better than the usual 1% coal tar shampoo for skin inflammation, though.

This is my first time purchasing this product, which was recommended by my dermatologist for my scalp psoriasis. It’s too soon to tell if it will help long-term, but I did notice a significant reduction in itchiness after showering. The scent is strong, but I don’t mind as long as it helps calm the itching. I’ve tried almost every product out there and am running out of options, so I’m hopeful this continues to help.

This is watery shampoo in a tube: Stains shower.
Used shampoo for a few weeks. It does the job, BUT BEWARE that when you stand the tube up it can leak onto your shower shelf and stain it. This shampoo in a tube is so liquady it pours out and all over. In a tube, I didn't expect it to pour out so thin and freely, was expecting it to be more solid like. Will I purchase again....NO! It has ruined my shower with stains, even when I stand it with the cap upright. It needs to be thicker in a tube, don't know why it wasn't in a bottle. Heavy coal tar smell, that you can't cover!!!! Not worth the mess it makes. thrown away! Aug 2025-Stains remain. Noone ever contacted me. Product /customer service is nil and non-existant. Enough said...

Excellent Shampoo for Tough Scalp Conditions
Folks, this is an EXCELLENT shampoo for those like me who suffer from one or more of the following symptoms: Seborrheic dermatitis, red inflamed scalp, scaling, sensitive scalp that's allergic to certain ingredients in the shampoo, and/or mild to severe dandruff. This shampoo is well formulated: it uses the ammonium instead of sodium variation of sulphates. Ammonium is gentler on the scalp than sodium is. In addition, it has NO artificial fragrance and uses minimal ingredients. It lathers well and rinses off well. Does it smell of Tar? Yes, it does, but Tar is needed to fix the issues in your scalp, so why make it a big deal? No other OTC Tar shampoo works for me except this one. I add a drop of Rosemary oil in the shampoo and that hides the tar smell. Deal with the smell of Tar, but don't walk away from this shampoo just because of that: the benefits far outweigh the one, IMHO, minor disadvantage. One final point: I rotate between this shampoo and Nizoral (2 days followed by 1 day, respectively) to reduce my exposure to Tar. Overall, an excellent product. Try it for 2 weeks without questioning...if it helps you, stick with it.
