Easy To Set. VERY EFFECTIVE. Easy clean up. Reusable. Fantabulous.
II cannot say enough about this rat trap. I am SO IMPRESSED. I truly hate mice and rats but living accross from a wooded area I'm affraid it's going to be a constant battle. The only thing I dislike even more are the old school wooden spring traps. I would like to shake the hand of the person who came up with this little goddess of a trap for rodents. You my friend are going down in history. It's super easy to set these traps. Before you set the trap, flip it upside down and unscrew the little loading cup. We used peanut butter with a peanut stuck in on top. You can use your hand to undo it and put it back in. There is no screwdriver or anything needed. It's just a little half turn. Then flip it back to the correct side and place it up against a wall where you know you have rodent traffic. (where you see droppings that look like chocolate sprinkles but ytou don't want to put this kind on your ice cream) Then you can use your hand or I like to use my foot to press the mechanism down. It's the big thing in the middle that looks like a piano peddle. It's spring loaded. So you might need to put a little umph into it to get it all the way down. That is why I use my foot. You will feel it lock in place. And your good. We started catching rats on the first night. I haven't even had to change the bait for two weeks and we catch something every night. I think it's something to do with the small tunnel that makes them very comfortable. The old wood traps it was kind of hit or miss depending on how well you set the trap. Sometimes they were able to gently lick all the bait off the trap without setting it off. But not these. These are almost self setting every time. You just have to press the peddle down and it catches at the right place. I check it every morning and when I see that the peddle is back up again I know to look for a black tail sticking out. Then I just put my disposable gloves on and have my partner in crime hold a plastic bag open then I position the trap so the tunnel is horizontal and I press down on the piano peddle and out falls mr rat into the bag. Dead and stiff as a rock. Tie the bag off and put it into the trash. We have it on our back patio and we put a little doggie gate around the area so in case our dogs detect it first they can't get to it. But That is just because my silly dogs think they are ratters. They LOVE catching rats. It's so disgusting to me. When I see them do it, I'm like ok but no kisses from you today. I don't want to be near your mouth after that. But the way the trap is designed I'm not sure they would even be able to get to the rat. Maybe if they grabbed the tail and pulled on it hard enough. But I kinda doubt it. I also don't think you would have to worry about your pet getting snapped by it. The tunnel is a brilliant design. I used to put the wood snap traps out by my shed in the back and occasionally some poor baby cardnal or something would get snapped in it and I would feel so bad about that and stop using them altogether. But with this tunnel design I don't think a bird would feel comfortable going inside a tunnel on the ground level like that. So problem solved. Anyway this is a great trap and I highly reccommend it for everyone who has a problem with rats and mice.

Highly effective, SAFE to arm, keeps pets and smaller hoomans safe so you can place where need.
**HIGHLY** effective “vacation homes” for your unwanted guests. I’ve added little “time share contracts” onto the trigger pedal inside and my uninvited guests are lining up enough that my 2 pack homes”vacation homes” are almost constantly full, enough I just ordered the 4 pack of “vacation homes”. Super easy and **safe** to arm/rearm after your guest has signed their time share contract. Grew up using the old flat pack Victor brand houses, and after nearly losing a finger to a failed “maintenance repair” to it AND having pets who may try and sign a contract to get the free peanut butter lure I used to get my uninvited guests into their own little homes, I can place these where I need without worry. Had my doubts on initial purchase, but absolutely hands down these are the best “vacation homes” on the market! Grab some for yourself and quickly become your own time share mogul!

Super fast results!
BEST TRAP EVER! I set one trap at the steps of the outdoor hot tub last night at 8pm and this morning I had TWO in one trap! Crazy impressive results. I’m in Colorado and the mice destroy hot tub insulation. So today I set the second one and reloaded the first. They are clean and easy to snap open to get rid of the dead mice easily and reset! Just used peanut butter for bait as the product suggested. So inexpensive! I mean I used other traps and never caught anything so these are like a miracle for my patio! I used firewood to disguise them and to keep them in place from the wind. Just an idea. I would be sad I lost one of these traps!

It works but not instantly.
It’s hard to rate this. It’s effective in catching and ultimately killing, but the rodent screams for its life when caught for several minutes before dying. I’m not a fan of that part. Also, it’s quite easy to set and safe for pets. I have two dogs, and they haven’t gotten in there (thank God).

Killer item! Literally!
👍 Solid choice! The mouse trap is a classic for a reason. I mean, it's not exactly a pleasure to see that many mice, but it gets the job done. The design is actually pretty genius - simple, effective, and no batteries required! The spring mechanism is satisfying to set (just don't trigger it by accident, ouch!). It's compact, easy to set up, and doesn't take up much space. Would recommend for a no-nonsense, old-school approach to pest control. 👍 Would I use it again? Yeah, if I had to. 😂 5/5 stars - would love to see a more humane version, but this gets the job done.

Estoy satisfecha con la compra, si son muy efectivas para atrapar a las ratas, el diseño ayuda a que no tenga uno contacto con la rata al retirarla. Solo es necesario poner crema de cacahuate en el deposito.

I got this for the instant kill factor for the less pain on these poor things. I just got them today and put it in the basement. I went to check about 30 minutes later and it had caught one. Unfortunately, it's head was sticking out where you set the trap and alive as it snapped on the body. Horrible way to go! I may be settinf traps to ultimately kill them but suffering is not what I expected to happen. 😭
