Good size, good quality cardboard.
This is a good sized cat scratcher. Sturdy, robust, good quality cardboard. Our cat is a large ragdoll cross, 5.5kg and she loves lying on it as well as scratching it. I know all cats are different, so can only say for our cat it's highly recommended.

Cats love it
Cats will love it, my cats are queuing up to sleep in it, it’s great the fact you can turn the bottom two pieces over saves money, definitely recommend

Initial reluctance, now a firm favourite
I bought this for one of my mum's cats (well, a cat who adopted her). He had been using a flatter, smaller scratching tray as a bed, which was really too small for him. So I bought this, put it together (without the toys), and put it next to his old scratching tray. He showed no interest at all. I also put him on it a couple of times, just in case he thought he wasn't allowed to use it (he's very polite for a stray), but still no interest. But eventually after about a month he's started to use it, and it's now become on of his favourite places for sleeping. As you can see from the picture it's still quite a tight fit, but there is some room for him to stretch out if he overlaps the raised ends. Admittedly he's quite a chunky and solid cat.It was fairly easy to put together, and the large plastic screws seem to work well. If there's going to be a point of weakness I reckon it'll be either the front or back board, which hold the sections of scratcher together. The main flat area of the scratcher is made up of 2 thick double-sided layers of scratcher cardboard, so in theory you could change the base scratching layer another 3 times. But it would involve largely dismantling the scratcher each time, which is quite an effort compared to just flipping over the board in more conventional ones. And I don't know how the unit would hold up to being unscrewed and put back together again frequently.Overall though I think if your cat likes to lie on their scratcher board then this is a good option as it gives them a raised section they can use as a pillow, and the raised sides and back should also make the cat feel a bit more protected while sleeping.

Value for money, easy assembly
It arrived in a sturdy cardboard box, so no damage to contents. A big plus was that it was very easy to assemble. Screws and screwdriver were included. It did need 2 of us, 1 to hold the parts in place while the other fixed the screw. I'd always bought the oval shaped scratch beds for Daisy but she can only curl up in them. Once I'd sprayed a little catnip on this one, she was in for a good scratch, then having a stretch out, head on pillow!! She wasn't interested in the balls though. Good value for money as it came with two scratch pads so effectively four surfaces. Also looks cute :>)
