First off, this thing is extremely sturdy and well built. The air piston works exactly how I imagined it would operate, and adjustment is extremely easy in every direction. Read the easy to understand instructions, they are full of information. I am using two of these in addition with a flip up kind, to attach to my DJ road box, (see attached photo). This is the most convenient way for me to run a Karaoke show, corporate event or even just a home party. I chose to use the post type of attachment, and drilled holes through the back of my aluminum frame, and they are very sternly attached. In fact, they make the entire rig, feel more sturdy and substantial. The ability of these to hold any type of laptop, is only limited by the actual size and weight of your device. In terms of my necessities, I’ve only needed to hold a 15 inch MacBook Pro, and a 17 inch Acer style, lightweight, laptop, and an iPad Pro two, all of which are easily held… Especially with the included Velcro strap. Another great feature of these laptop stands are they can hold the plate in any direction, even almost vertical. And swing in 360°. I’ve had to move him out of the way to complete other task, and they move right back with ease. I fully recommend Upgravity. They are superior to any other ones I’ve tried… And I have tried quite a few.

Safety strap seems like a good idea, but my teammates don't want to take the time to strap on a computer. And the possibility of it falling seems high in the area we've put it in (lab bench). Also if, like me, you've been looking for one you can mount upside down (hang from lab bench shelf) this is NOT the one you want. It can be assembled that way, but the angles are all wrong and the movement is severely impeded. So far it's great if used and assembled as instructed! It positions and stays pretty solidly.

I mounted this with the grommit option to hold my laptop. Mounting instructions were easy to follow. This easily holds the laptop and allows me to adjust up or down forward or backward. I got this laptop holder because it's one of the longest ones I could find on Amazon. It can extend from the back of the desk much further than the others. 5/5 as a great laptop or monitor desk arm which is extra long.

The device is strong and supportive and helps me in my tiny home office space. Having this adjustable arm for my laptop has made working in my super limited home work space much easier. My only wish is that the mount plate that the laptop sits on only has bumpers at the bottom edge; there are no side bumpers or clamps. Instead they provide a Velcro (hook & loop) strap to keep the laptop from falling off. I didn't realize this when I bought it. I did see a similar model that provides adjustable side clips which I would've preferred. The Velcro strap has to be removed in order for the laptop to close fully. Despite this, I'm keeping it because overall, it's working for me.

I ended up buying 2 of these. 1 for a 16" MacBook Pro and 1 for a 17" MSI laptop. Both work quite well on this stand. It arrives in 1 large piece (arm), the tray and the bottom mounting bracket so very easy to install. The tension adjustment for the gas cylinder is easy to adjust to so can get the perfect hight above your desk. The best thing about it is all the desktop space it opens up underneath the tray. The worst thing is that it requires longer wires due to the wiring channels.
