This product is a new version of an old one I had for many years. They both got very hot. This is to be expected. I will use Kleenex against my skin to protect it from the heat because it leaves a bit of a red mark. But they give really nice curls. Saves my hair from getting damaged from a flat iron and curling iron. I have layered shoulder length hair. Perfect for hot rollers. These rollers are large and give beautiful wavy hair. I just pull my fingers through the curls to give it some natural body and give it a spritz of hairspray to hold it. I always get compliments when I use the hot rollers.People complained about the smell. Anything made from plastic is going to smell when it’s heated up. Especially the first few tries.I loved the old rollers I had but the cover had broken and I couldn’t get them to get hot enough. So I decided to upgrade. I got an open box and saved a few bucks there. It was worth it.

I've been buying Conair hot rollers for many years. Heats up quickly and holds hair on curlers as you wind. The clips hold rollers in place without falling out. I love the black color. This is the best hot rollers!

I’m one of those “old” people who grew up using heated rollers. I’m not sure we even had curling irons in the 70s. I recently decided I needed to try them again, and settled on these jumbo curlers; I don’t want really tight curls, just loose waves and volume.This set has 12 curlers, and 12 clips that hold the curlers in place. These are plastic claw clips, not the metal C clips. The instructions say that the set warms up in 88 seconds. There is a red light that is supposed to turn white when the unit is heated. My red light never changed. I suggest a timer to set and remind you. I let mine heat for about 5 minutes.The curlers were hot, but not uncomfortably so. I have shoulder length, fairly thick hair, and had a couple of rollers left after rolling my hair. I left the rollers in for 15 minutes, and then carefully removed them. I had plenty of body and waves after the removal of the rollers. I let my hair cool, then ran my fingers through my hair, followed by a very large tooth comb. I still had lots of body the next morning after sleeping on it.I’m very pleased with my purchase. There is not a place to store the clips, so be prepared to find something to keep them in.

I love these rollers. It took me a few different sets to find the one for me. I have just longer than shoulder length hair. I wanted a roller for more body than curls. This gives me a little curl and the ends with body at the root

I love the rollers but I hate the clips. This is the only set I found that had enough large rollers to do longer hair, but the clips are awful, they’re flimsy and the don’t old the roller in place well enough so your rollers are flopping all over. I have fine hair so that might be the problem, but then they should list them as not good for fine hair. I bought the pins for 1 1/2 inch rollers but they were to big and I know 1 inch rollers would be too small.

The media could not be loaded. Only gave one star because I had to give it something. But it deserves zero. These rollers are a fire hazard. Thank goodness I didn’t leave them unattended. Had them plugged in for the first time for about 15 mins. Started to use them on my hair and half way through putting them in my hair, they started smoking and melting. I had to run them outside because my house was filling with smoke. I didn’t think until the smoke started to subside to take a video. But as you can tell the tops of many of the remaining rollers are melted in. The remaining rollers are now stuck in the case as they melted to the heating panels. Returning these no doubt.

I had same Conair roller set but VERY old and the cover was cracked so upgraded to this one. Works the same maybe a little better but I dont use the clips. They leave dents so I still use the pins from the old set and also bought some new ones. Otherwise very satisfied

These hot rollers work great. They heat up quickly and evenly. After about 15 minutes they are cool and my hair is smooth and curly. I use it several times a week. I would highly recommend this product.
