Natural 100% Silk Thread, Handmade Embroidery Thread Silk Floss 6 Colors 110m Each (40)

This is beautiful silk thread. However, to save anyone else from making the same mistake I did……This thread is only suitable for embroidery. It is very thin. I bought it for needlepoint, but it doesn’t even begin to cover a size 14 canvas. I think it is too thin even for petite point needlepointing. It doesn’t even work for needlepoint if you double it. So don’t waste your time unless you’ll use it for embroidery.

Absolutely beautiful colors and very well made and quality silk. I love this product and have several color combinations of this brand. I have been blown away by the quality of these products. Wear silk gloves when separating the strands for use and make sure your hands are moisturized when stitching.

I would almost give this five stars, but yes, indeed it is a challenge to get it organized for use I’ve been lucky and I’ve purchased almost all of the colors that this company offers and I haven’t had any that I haven’t been able to gently ease apart in order to wind onto a bobbin for use But I can see how that would be a major problem if these weren’t carefully packed for the customer So I’m hoping everybody who buys this reads the reviews first so that they know what they’re getting into Having that been said - yes yes yes you definitely will want to make sure that your hands are moisturized and that you don’t have any hangnail as this thread is so fine and so delicate that it will absolutely catch on any dry skin or hang nails - furthermore if your home is really dry, and you have a lot of static cling, I can see that as being an issue You need to handle this with absolute delicate care so it does take some fairly fine tuned manual dexterity. If you don’t see yourself as a person who has that skill, then I would probably avoid this particular kind of super thin silky silk thread. As it’s almost as fine as hair. But if you’re able to manage getting these onto your floss, bobbin or organize, however you need them organized they are quite beautiful when you see them in an embroidery project I like doing something called “thread painting” where you use just one thread and you basically paint with it onto your fabric. It’s very realistic, especially for doing things like pet portraits and I find this thread to be a really beautiful medium for this application but as I’ve said multiple times now… If you don’t have manual dexterity and patience, it’s probably not for you.

Impossible to crochet with - The quantity is ridiculously small for the price - Look more like a yarn for sewing - Highly to AVOID because it is a total waste of money !!!!! I would suggest Amazon to review the description in order to prevent to have more highly disappointed buyers.

These are gorgeous, soft, fine silk floss for hand embroidery. Please read the reviews that talk about how to wind this floss into a bobbin - you will need patience and some equipment. But the thread itself is high quality, with a beautiful shine and fantastic value. The fact that I got a gradient is amazing. I cannot recommend this enough for people who want to make beautiful embroidery.

This silk thread is really soft and shiny. The colors are bright and look beautiful on fabric. Each roll has a lot of thread, so it lasts a long time. It doesn’t tangle easily, and it’s smooth to work with. The thread feels strong but still gentle, which makes it perfect for embroidery projects. I used it to stitch flowers and leaves, and the finished piece looks really nice. The way the light catches the silk makes every color pop. It’s also easy to separate the strands if you need to use fewer. Everything came neatly packed, and all the colors matched what I saw online. This thread makes my work look extra special.

I’m used to cotton embroidery floss and gave this silk kind a try. It wasn’t what I was expecting. The colors are as pictured which is a plus. It is not possible to easily separate out a strand to work with. The skeins easily come undone and tangle. The thread is shiny like silk. But it didn’t smell like silk often does and didn’t quite feel like 100 percent silk. If you have any roughness to your hands the silk will snag. I was able to double up strands to get something thicker to sew with but even then the floss tangled easily while sewing. If you’re used to working with standard cotton embroidery floss, this is not comparable in texture and is harder to work with. I won’t order this again.

The threads are lovely, I like them. The photo makes it look like they range from black to just barely off-white, but in person, they lean more towards being purples. I'll find some use for them, but it was a little disappointing since they weren't exactly what I needed.
