My daughter coached swimming this past summer and needed a stopwatch. After reading about several, she decided on this one. It is a great watch.

be advised this model does not have a countdown timer. seiko has a model in different color for a few dollars more that does. the model with timer has the ability to beep. i kept this one because i like the black color - it looks really slick - but i was disappointed that it doesn't have a timer. seiko also has a model with backlight and a solar powered model - this unit doesn't have any of those features. i give it 4 stars because it is well designed and well made and looks and works well, and comes with a nice and useful case - but the feature set is somewhat basic compared to other seiko models. you can buy non-seiko stopwatches for one third the price of this unit that have the timer and the backlight ...

When you buy Seiko you know what your getting. Quality of construction and functionality. This watch lives up to that bill as far as I can tell up to this point.

I bought this because my previous stopwatch was also a Seiko and lasted 7 years. This one died after 7 months and the seller has not responded to my email.
