Great cameras for home

LOVE these cameras! We have been using these for years now and the quality and durability can’t be beat. So easy to install and get going. Great functionality and the battery life is fair for sure. If you are in a high traffic area I suggest getting the solar power option.

I've been using these now for several months. They were VERY easy to install Get the little aluminum fasteners (sold separately) to install under vinyl siding. They work great. I used the temporarily free 'Cloud Storage' feature but quickly decided I didn't need another subscription service at cost to store the videos. I bought a 256g memory stick to capture and store the videos and it works just fine. So far haven't captured any burglars trying to break in but am amazed to find bunnies, possums, raccoons and even coyotes hanging out after dark on my patio and front porch. Like an animal dinner party every night. It takes a little work to exclude from the view being motion captured the things that will trigger a video (who cares if your neighbor turns his/her lights on every night) but when you get the hang of it it's quite easy to eliminate those kinds of events. Also, unless you live in a high crime area, it's better to 'Disarm' the things (one click) when you're at home and out and about. I had a patio dinner party one evening and forgot to Disarm the camera. Got about 40 action video captures of people eating, drinking, laughing, etc.. Took a while to delete those. :-)

The original blink camera mounting is very poor and hard to place the camera on. You have to pound the camera on with the palm of your hand. I'm sure my wife could not change batteries in the blink with the original mounting. This mount fixes that problem. The camera slips inside of the mounting enclosure and a plastic retaining device snaps in front of the camera. The mounting enclosure easily screws onto the mount. The enclosure extends out over the top of the camera and helps keep rain off of the camera lens. It also has a nice opening for a wired USB power connection. In fact, we added USB power to our cameras. We ordered 2 sets of these to handle all 7 of our blink cameras. The only problem was tat one plastic retainer was broken on the first set. I wasn't able to get the seller to replace it. I would have had to return the whole set.

Absolutely do not recommend. Would not hold my cameras in.

I previously purchased the same Blink cameras and love them. They were Crystal clear & easy to use. These are absolutely terrible. They will not pick up wifi regularly, sporadic at best. I don’t know what the issue is.

Listen clearly, I love the work with the camera system you guys have done and continue to do. Job well done! Now for the mounting of the camera. THINK about it ….really. I just got the so called All NEW BLINK OUTDOOR WALL MOUNT. Guys when you make a mistake FIX IT. Don’t make a piece of junk with 8 or more pieces with the only part that holds your camera in place is a ridiculous thin piece of plastic. Your first design was ok with the exception of connecting the camera. Just fix that and we’re good. No need to make junk

Doesn't hold camera inside. Camera slips out. The plate designed to keep the camera inside is loose and flimsy.

Terrible set of Cameras. For the price I expected a lot more from them. They are always fogging up at night to the point that they are deemed completely useless. I’ve even purchased the cases to see if that would help thinking it may be the dew, and nothing is working. Maybe I got a defective batch, but for me personally I wouldn’t purchase again. The mounts are not reliable either, eventually the cameras fall off, so we purchased new mounts. Also you have to pay for a monthly subscription. You do have the choice of plugging in a memory stick, but i’ve been trying to use several memory sticks in the past year and none work. Always says error. So don’t count on using the memory stick to bypass the cost of the subscription. I’d suggest looking at another brand.
