Excellent value. Great quality and works flawlessly. I used it to cut a 4” diameter hole into the ceiling of my closet for LED downlighting and had to cut through plaster and lath. The saw cut accurately and quickly. I would highly recommend it.

This guy decided he was going to move his laundry room, and everything that entails. Part of that project includes drilling a 4” hole in the roof to place the new dryer vent. Talk about nervous, I was! So on one of my many trips to the big box store, I priced out the cost of a 4 1/4” hole saw to use with my drill. Sticker shock to say the least. Went on line and found this one at a good price and bought one. It worked perfectly. Hooked right up to my drill, sharp and durable. I drilled through shingles and the wood underneath. Went through in about 45 seconds, clean and smooth hole. I’ll probably never use one this big again but I’ve got it if I do and I’m sure it will work just as nice next time.

1. Heavy. 2. Durable. 3. There’s no locknut. Never spin up your drill in the REVERSE direction because when you take your finger off the drill trigger, the chuck stops, but this very heavy metal cutting implement instantly backs itself OFF the mandrel, going freely into space. If you’re like me, you’ll instinctively grab for it: big mistake. Thank God it’s rotating backwards and the cutting teeth only burned my hand instead of ripping it to shreds! 5. Made a perfect hole in the 5/8” solid wood wall that I was cutting. 6. Does its job perfectly.

Works as described. It seems to be 1/32" larger than 4 inches. Still works.

Great for cutting dryer vent hole - reverse the direction to cut through certain materials (drywall?) for a better finish.
