I've been deep diving and studying microphones for the past year. The farther back you go the more you find that you should question EVERYTHING you hear on YT. The major issues: 1. Never place a microphone on the desk you will be touching your mouse/keyboard/etc.. on. Your mic will inevitably vibrate and create sound issues in the recording! (hence this wall mount) 2. Never put your mic closer than 16in from your face or at a "45degree off axis" placement if you don't want massive mouth noise. 3. Mount your mic on a wall or ceiling, and have the boom arm situated to be over your head where you're talking under the microphone (eliminates all plosives, most mouth noises, and lessens the harsher sibilance but doesn't remove all of it.) That said. I mounted 2 mics to my walls on either side of my desk 6in above my head. I used my old boom arms and removed the desk clamps and slid these into the the clamps and poof, works like a gem. It took all of 2 mins to set up and will take about the same if I need to move them (I don't plan to since they are positioned perfectly for adjustments with the boom arms. For the cost these wall mounts fix 90% of my VO audio issues. There's no excuse for bad audio!
