seems to work, holds finger from binding at the knuckle. make sure you have the correct size. My first one was too tight and the finger became very cold from lack of circulation. I went up one size and have had no problems.

This finger splint works so well! I’m taking the time to review as I saw a review where the buyer was wearing the splint backwards, so of course that doesn’t work. Wear it properly and it will prevent your finger from bending. I purposely bought from this company and paid more as it’s made in the USA! Buy the other ones and you get 5 or 6, but notice they are all different sizes. It’s important to measure your finger at the knuckle to get the right size for you. I will say the packaging is a little misleading as there are TWO in the picture but you only get one. I think the seller should consider putting two in the package, considering both the package picture as well as the price.

This is a great product, the only issue I take with it is not having a return or exchange option should you get the size wrong, so measure carefully. This was needed for a Trigger Thumb issue. Ordered a size 6 and it was too small. No returns, so I ended up ordering again; a size 8. Great fit. Tips: -Use a measuring tape. -If you find yourself in-between measurements order the size that's bigger. - If you do not have a measuring tape, use a strip of paper to measure around your thumb and then measure the strip of paper. It's worth it once you get the right size. While wearing it: No pain or discomfort, can wash your hands without taking it off. Discreet in comparison to other similar products. Trigger Thumb is improving after one month of consistent use. Less pain and the thumb does not get stuck in a bent position now. Still, some stiffness but the improvement is great.

I have mallet finger, which is a jammed finger. It was caused by too much bending over a period of time of the first joint from the tip of my middle right finger. I managed to do it a little at a time (by knitting, if you can believe that) rather than getting hit hard on the end of my finger and getting it all at once. Don't keep doing something if it hurts! It tore the ligament between the first two joints on that finger on the top of my finger (the part that's outside when you make a fist). This splint can be worn for a lot of different problems in a lot of different positions. If yours doesn't come with a paper diagramming how to wear it for different problems, check on the internet. My comments are about mallet finger, but might also apply generally. My splint is very tight on my finger, but even so, I've found some situations where I'm doing something that catches in the splint, and it gets pulled off. I've usually solved this by putting a bit of medical adhesive tape over the single center spot of it. The splint is small, and hard to see, so if you take one off for any reason, it's hard to find. I lost one that way, and ordered another to replace it, but was lucky enough to find the original before the replacement even arrived). I've since lost the original one while I was trying to pull something out of a package. I pulled, and the stuff came out and yanked the splint off my finger along with the package. I haven't found it this time, but still might. My advice, if you have to wear it for a long time is to get an extra or two. It seems to take about 6 weeks for a ligament to heal, so I'm still going to be wearing one for a while. Plus, I keep trying to do things, and making it worse in spite of the splint, although the splint makes it hard to hurt it. The splint that I bought for at night arrived today, and they come in sets of three, so you can rotate splints. Having several splints seems like a good idea. It seems like it's going to be a good one to use at night to sleep in, but I've only had it for a few hours. It's an Auerbach Mallet Splint, and Amazon has them. But I like the plastic splint for during the day. You can do more with it without further injuring you finger, and it's waterproof. The aluminum with foam one I bought at the drugstore is good for sleeping in, except that it tends to slide off if I move in my sleep. The Auerbach splint doesn't seem like it could be pulled off easily. It's tight enough that I want to take it off at night because it's hard and the center section presses hard against that joint and makes it hurt if I wear it for an extended period of time. I've been using a more conventional splint to sleep in, but that wants to slide off. I just got a different splint to wear at night, but I'm going to continue to wear this during the day. It's convenient that you can wash your hands, and get it wet without hurting it. I can even still knit with it on, but am trying not to knit much. Anyway, this is an excellent splint for mallet finger, and it allows you to use the finger and do things, for the most part.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! I used the sizing guide to determine the size I ordered. The product was way too large. In order to return it I am being charged $4.54 postage which was not apparent on the product description. Seller was contacted and said that was an Amazon policy and could not do anything about it. Amazon says it is the seller’s policy. Just don’t buy it.

I liked the finish on this brace. The edges are smooth and comfortable. Unfortunately it broke after less than a week. I’m am going to return it and get a replacement.

If you are looking for a finger splint, this is a must have! It is so low profile and allows full function of your finger and hand. My finger became injured when my daughter twisted it while holding my hand. I went to the doctor thinking she may have broken my finger, but xrays didn't show that to be the case. He recommended hand physical therapy which couldn't get me in for 3 weeks. In the mean time, I bought the huge metal finger splint which caused more problems because it hit everything! My physical therapist found I had pulled/strained the ligaments in my finger and introduced me to Oval 8 splint. It is fantastic and prevents me from over extending my finger as well as accidently bending it sideways when I hit it on the turn signal in my car or anywhere else. It is so low profile, no one realizes I have it on right next to my wedding rings. I really am happy with it and have found it is helping me significantly! I keep it on all the time because I found during my sleep, I kept banging my finger on the bed or getting it caught in the sheets and straining it more, causing me to wake in pain. It does come in 2 sizes. I have the 7, which turned around is a 7.5. This has been nice when my finger swells a bit. If it is hard to put on, i have put a little lotion on and it slides right past my knuckle. Running under cool water has helped as well when in a bind. Order a size up if swelling is an issue. Also, this is made of a thick durable plastic and will not bend or break easily.

Comfortably keeps my knuckle from hyper-extending. Exactly what I need. Sizing was on point with measurements.
