Read reviews about many different self tanners and this one seemed to have the best reviews as well as one of the purchased most often. As like many reviews suggested, exfoliating beforehand is important. I bought some exfoliating gloves from EcoTools, which made my skin so soft, I’m already very soft and use quality body cream daily but the exfoliating was nice regardless and I’ll continue to do so. Use a good lotion after the shower/bath and exfoliating, especially if you have dry areas like knees, elbows and heels. I don’t have those issues but I can see why it’d make a difference. Then use gloves, I didn’t even buy the mitt, just used new rubber kitchen dish gloves I had forgotten about. They worked perfectly and also so my hubs could help with the areas I couldn’t reach. Spread evenly and allow to dry. I’m on my second day and I’ve already developed a nice natural color to my skin. Winter causes me to become so pale and I’m going to a nice tropical vacay soon and do not want to be super pale upon arrival, I’m preparing so I can also use a nice bronze body shimmer once I develop a real tan, which I’m prepared with sunscreen with glow as well. Highly highly recommend this product! I’ll be purchasing again and have no complaints at all! No problems with an orangey tint like some self tanners. It literally looks like my skin does after a couple days on the summer pool time. I love it! Oh, and I’m on my second day, showered (did not exfoliate) like normal and did everything else like first day. It didn’t really wash off but slightly lightened when I showered and used my regular loofah. To be expected. Didn’t lighten to the point where the first application was a waste. I still retained most of the color, I knew it was going to take a few days to build the tan level I desire. But this! It’s a big bottle and goes a long way! Just make sure to wear gloves of some type and you’ll need help spreading to the back area you can’t reach unless you can figure out a clever workaround! The pictures are me on vacation in Mexico late Jan this year, coming straight from a cold and winters climate. I don’t believe in laying out and developing a natural tan anymore, mainly due to aging, skin damage, all the obvious negative effects of direct sun exposure and I have little patience as it is. I prepped and built this color a few days prior to leaving and was so overjoyed with the natural results!

I was hesitant at first to buy this self-tanner at first. I do love the brand b.tan, but I have had some problems with their foaming tanners in the past. But this tanner is AMAZING! To say the least, the product does NOT transfer onto your clothing - I wore a white t-shirt to bed after applying, and the t-shirt the next day was still white! The gel is super easy to apply and comes on smoothly to the skin. I think the clear aspect to it is perfect, so you can apply it during the day and you won't have the green discoloration to you that the foams give. After applying, it is NOT sticky and you can move freely instead of standing like a stick figure waiting for it to "dry". Also, I'd like to add that this tan does NOT give you a lingering chemical smell after applying & you SERIOUSLY do not have to "wash it off" !! I am Irish, so I've always had pale skin, and this tanner does just the right amount of color for me after 1 layer. It doesn't come out fake and orange; it looks pretty natural to me. Overall, this product is definitely my new go-to self-tanner, and I would recommend it to anyone tired of the green tint of the skin, stickiness, and transfer of color onto clothing that the average self-tan gives you!

I really like this self-tanning gel! The color develops quickly and looks very natural on my skin, not orange at all. The mitt makes it easy to apply evenly, and I love that it works on both face and body. It also dries fast, so I don’t feel sticky after using it. The best part is that it doesn’t transfer to my clothes or sheets, which was always a problem with other tanning products I tried before. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I noticed a little bit of patchiness on my knees and elbows the first time. After exfoliating better before the second application, it looked much smoother, so I think that was on me. Overall, it’s a really good product if you want a deep, natural tan without the strong smell that most self-tanners have.

I have tried so many self-tanners over the years and this one is by far the best one I have used AND it comes at an unbeatable price. I read the reviews and followed the advice and it looks amazing! It gives a beautiful, natural tan. So what I do is: 1) the day before I will shave and exfoliate and then moisturize 2) day of, shower before hand and moisturize again, making sure to get in-between my toes and fingers, ankles, knees, elbows and wrists 3) (I bought a mit to use- cheap $5 one) apply to my legs and feet first then slowly work my way up. (I use about 8 pumps per tan). I do rub it in as much as I can to prevent streaks 4) I let it dry it, get dressed and then wait for the perfect tan to come. If I do it in the morning, I will shower 6-8 hours later. If I do it at night, I shower in the morning, usually 8-10 hours after the application. If applied correctly, which is super super easy, there are no streaks. I have only had an issue with streaks one time and it was completely user error. I didnt get it rubbed in and missed a few spots. That is one of the negatives is that it is clear, so it is hard to see where you already applied and rubbed in and where you haven't, though that is also a plus because it doesn't turn ANYTHING orange or discolor clothing, sheets, etc. Mine usually lasts me a solid 3-4 days before it starts to fade. Usually by the following weekend (I don't do it during the week) it's still there, but much, much lighter and I'm ready for a new application I am allergic to the sun and break out in terrible rashes and get blisters so I am unable to get a natural tan any longer, so this is perfect for me, especially in the summer. 10/10 reccomemd!! I will be continuing to use this.

Hi! I purchased this product to get a quick, noticeable tan and to avoid long hours of needless sun or UV rays exposure and the expense of tanning sessions. This was my FIRST experience with a self-tanning product of any kind (e.g., lotions, gels, mousses, serums, etc.). Overall, the glow this tanning gel gives you is AMAZING. As a clear gel, you probably wouldn't anticipate the results this self-tanner provides. Ultimately, the product will bronze your skin, but it will also leave a faint orangey undertone. Importantly, both a downside and an upside of this product IS that the gel is clear. So, although it is transfer-resistant, there is no guide to show where you have and have not applied the product. Below are longer explanations related to the product's moisturization, scent, and use. When first applied, the product's scent is coconut-like and pleasant. However, an hour after the application, the dried gel smelled odd. Unfortunately, the smell does not disappear. Instead, it clings to you. I could smell it on my skin and asked a friend whether or not they could detect the odor. Admittedly, my friend pressed their nose almost directly against my skin, but they could also smell it. Although scents rarely bother me, eventually, the product began to smell undeniably unpleasant. At last, I showered and scrubbed myself twice, but the smell lingers. If you are sensitive to smells or odors, reconsider purchasing and using this product. Fortunately, the product did not irritate my skin. Although the product claims to "give you the juiciest, moisturized glow," I did not find it moisturizing. But the gel did NOT dry out my skin either. Admittedly, I did not purchase this product for its supposed moisturizing benefits. Ultimately, its lack of moisturization does not upset me. Indeed, other customers might have thought it to be moisturizing. Overall, there are several points I want to address. First, I want to emphasize the "rinse-free" label. The product states that it is a "rinse-free" tan gel, and IT IS. However, I experienced some confusion during my first application. I purchased a bundle that included the tanning gel and an application mitt. The two items arrived together in a plastic package that directs you to rinse off the gel after setting it for several hours. During my first application, I only applied the gel to my legs. Eventually, I rinsed off (i.e., without using soap) and dried off with a towel. I discovered large, discolored smears where I had wiped the gel off my legs. Although the gel was dry, it did not react well after rinsing. Overall, IF you purchase the tanning gel and mitt bundle, please DO NOT RINSE ALTHOUGH THE BUNDLE BAG INSTRUCTS YOU. The Glow Your Own Way bottle states that it is rinse-free. After my second application on my upper body, I wore the gel for twenty-four hours before showering. So, how did the tan react to a complete shower (i.e., with soap)? It reacted well! My skin has a moderate bronze tone. Several of the uneven dark patches disappeared. Ultimately, I cannot guarantee the longevity of this tan. But I predict it will last three to four more showers. The second point I want to address is the non-transfer guarantee. I found the "transfer-resistant" claim to be TRUE. Since the gel is clear, immediate transfers will not happen. However, I recommend waiting about thirty minutes until the gel absorbs before lying or sitting on furniture. I did not test that hypothesis; it is merely precautionary advice. My clothes did not stain. However, I did rest my forearms against my thighs several times, and the gel did transfer to my skin while it was tacky. The last point I want to mention is the method of application. Although the bottle encourages you to, I did not use my bare hands to apply the product. (Considering how it stained my skin in several spots, I do NOT suggest using your bare hands). Instead, during the first application, I used a rubber glove. If you use a rubber glove, you will not waste as much product since the gel does not absorb into the mitt. However, you will NOT need to dispense as much product onto your rubber glove. If you use a tanning mitt, you will use more product as it absorbs into the fabric. However, as a first-time self-tanner, I found the application easier with a mitt than a rubber glove. I believe I applied the gel more evenly with the mitt. Therefore, I recommend using an applicator mitt with this product.

I am a very consistent self tanner and have used very type/ brand of tanner you can imagine. I recently tried the b.tan gel in insanely dark and I’m absolutely in love! It’s dark, easy to sleep in, glides on well with a tanning mitt for an easy, even application, smells good, fades well, and it’s super hydrating. I cannot believe how cheap it is!!! I used to use the isle of paradise drops in dark which I still use for my face but the small bottle doesn’t last long when using it for the whole body. I tired the b. Tan drops and they are very runny - like water and hard to mix with moisturizers. But overall very happy and excited I found such a great product and at such a great price point!

i’ve purchased this tanner five or six times I love it when you just need a little bit of extra color but don’t want to shower it off first applications are the darkest and I noticed for myself personally that the color gets lesson as well. Every time I put it on which is a given for Tanner it does smell horrible but it’s so worth it application can be tricky, but it just takes a lot of practice give it a chance it is a little bit orange sometimes but I don’t find that an issue.

I bought this after seeing it all over TikTok! I’ve used the Loving Tan mousse for years, and this one actually works pretty well. It dries fast and doesn’t stain my clothes or bedding, which is a big plus. It still has that classic tanning smell when it dries, though not as strong as Loving Tan. The only downside is the gel is clear, so it’s tough to tell where you’ve applied it. The included mitt and a blending brush (one that I purchased on my own) are really helpful for getting an even finish on the ankles, feet, and hands.
