I have been using these pencils for a few years and usually order from an art shop online. I bought 2 of these and I’m not sure if there’s been a bad batch but the lead on both of them keeps snapping when I sharpen them. It’s not my sharpener as all my other pencils sharpen ok. I’ve sharpened both pencils numerous times and they just snap.

I was worried about buying this pencil because I didn’t know how it would be packaged - as everyone who uses pencils knows, they need to be treated with care.In the end I had to purchase from Amazon due to desperation and ordered 5 pencils in the hope they’d be taped together or protected somehow.They’re absolutely perfect. Each pencil came in protective packaging and I’m delighted with them.

After using cheaper quality pencils since I got back into art last year, I had forgotten what a difference a professional quality pencil makes. And that is exactly what this is. I prefer to use the very black pencils (7-9B) and have found the faber castell 9000 series to be incredibly versatile. I am able to get a depth of shade that was simply not possible with the lesser pencils. At just a couple of pounds per pencil to me this is a total no brainier.

I used this pencil for a portrait drawing course.... It was perfect.

Great pencils for sketching, you can get darker shades into really light shades. FC is a company that always produces great art materials. If your looking for a pencil just for some rough sketches, this is the one for you. It's hexagonal, which makes it was to hold, it sharpens like a dream and erases well. Great all rounder pencil and not too pricey.
