Is Defender the same as bright and clear?

No, Defender is a unique blend of organic polymers designed to prevent scale formation, aid in the removal of existing scale and to help prevent precipitation of dissolved solids in spas or hot tubs. Bright and Clear is specially designed for hot water application. Spa water becomes cloudy because millions of small, suspended particles accumulate in the water. The particles are too small to be filtered out. By using Bright & Clear, the small particles combine to form larger particles that can be trapped by the filter to improve water clarity. These definitions were taken from the Leisure Time website. We use both.

can i use this product with a copper ionizer system? Have never had calcium scale before with ionizer, think maybe my well water has become harder.

I recommend that you have the water professionally to determine exactly what is best for your hot tub. Yes this product is compatible but might remove some of the copper. I would ask the manufacturer of the ion system before using. thanks Dave @ National Discount Pool Supplies, LLC

How much of product per gallon? I am getting a 2100 gallon swim spa.

For spas over 800 gallons use 4 fluid ounces. I’m not sure if it has a 2100 gallon spa in mind. Maybe there is something else for cloudy water in swimming pools that would give you more bang for the buck.

Can this product be used in a toilet? We live on a well and have some scaling build up ring in the toilet. Will this harm porcelain or septic system

Try a pumice stone, only thing that worked for my rust rings. They work fast.
