The led feature has never worked on mine. is there a certain way batteries must be placed? thank you!

You have to contact the seller because there have been numerous complaints from customers about the LED lights not working, and replacing batteries and still not working. They will replace it for you. I know this because the same thing happened to mine and I read the reviews and one of the reviewers stated they were able to contact the seller and it was shipped out the very next day and worked perfectly.

Is this meant to have an extra bump on the bottom of the base? It looks so well made except for what looks like extra glass on one side of the base.
