Ultimate Invasion Review: A Marvelous New Ultimate Universe! - I very much feel like this stands on its own as a phenomenal new take on a Ultimate Marvel Universe! That being said, knowing this is what catapaults the rest of the much hailed new Ultimate comics reveals how marvelous of a starting point this really is! The Maker is as scary as every writer has impressively kept him! The new character angles feel nuanced and playful off their classic counterparts! There are high level concepts that haunted me the whole time I read it and found myself sharing to non-comic readers who were also taken aback from them. Additionally the more learned you are on Marvel, the more you will be consistently rewarded in this book! Review: entertaining story of an evil Reed Richards - To be honest, I’ve avoided reading most anything from Marvel since the 1980s, because too many of the stories were getting stupid and ignoring decades of canon so that some new writer could indulge their own bad ideas. And now, over a quarter-century later, I don’t even understand what’s going on anymore, and the plotlines seem to be getting more and more outlandish. In the midst of all that, I saw a few panels from this series and they caught my eye, and so I picked this up when it was released. It turns out that some origin material that would’ve helped put everything into context was not included in this collection, but nevertheless, I got the basic idea: an evil alternate-universe Reed Richards is tinkering with the world of the universe that these stories are set in (whatever universe that may be) and various parties are trying to stop him. I just just treated it as an alternate-universe story, and as such I enjoyed it. There were a lot of interesting ideas, and dialogue to match. The artwork was generally excellent as well.

An engaging storyline.
Often, when I read these collections, I find myself at some point just wanting to hurry up and get to a stopping point so I can go do something else for a while until I wake up enough to finish the story. Not with Ultimate Invasion (2023). This story engaged me right from the beginning and kept my interest from page one until the last page. The ending was unexpected, yet set expectations for continuation of the story in future offshoot titles. I highly recommend this compilation.

Best Series of the Year!!
I was never an marvel Ultimate Universe fan. I really didn’t like the way any of the great marvel characters were portrayed. Always felt it was only there for the shock value of killing characters and also setting things up that might be later portrayed in the Marvel movies. The writer Hickman does a great job of getting the reader to care about these characters. He makes all this seem new and very interesting. I will be buying some of these Ultimates series this time around

Want to know "The Maker"?
Arrived in great shape. This is an awesome hickman story. This and ultimates fix the world is necessary reading if you want to get into the current ultimate world. This is the maker doing his maker thing.

Liked It!
I read this book because I really like the new take on Ultimate Spider-Man and wanted to read this for more context into the dynamics of the world. I have to say I enjoyed it quite a bit. Very well written and great artwork some of the time travel/genetic manipulation science was way over my head but it was still a fun read. Also The Maker is a very formidable and interesting antagonist and I’m eager to see how the heroes eventually defeat him.

Peak fiction
The Maker is my new favorite villain. It's good. Read it.

Watching Marvel comics become stale and outdone over the last 10 years sucked. They really needed something refreshing, and while this may not be the reboot we all want, it's the next best thing.

A great story and the start of something really interesting again from Hickman. Great art from Hitch and some really good conceptual building for the ultimate universe. Highly recommended.

I was really looking forward to read this and It's a great story but unfortunately it didn't came in the best shape due of the paper bag Amazon use. I'll keep it, but kinda disappointed with the damaged corner on my book
