Westinghouse 14500 Peak Watt Tri-Fuel Home Backup Portable Generator, Remote Electric Start, Transfer Switch Ready, Gas, Propane, and Natural Gas Powered

Great Generator, was able to power my 5-ton AC with a soft starter installed no problem, along with 2 refrigerators, and tv when hooked up to my panel through the 50amp plug. Power was very stable, no issues with any LED bulbs flickering or other electronics not functioning. It fired right up on the first go, its loud but I think that's par for the course with traditional generators of this size. I look forward to getting my natural gas plumped for this to be prepared for hurricane season. It comes with a remote starter which is a plus. One thing that wasn't super obvious from any instructions is that if you are running this to back feed a main service panel, you need to unbond the neutral from the ground on the Generator. This involves taking off the cover of the alternator and removing a small green and yellow wire that bonds the neutral to the chassis. This was hinted at in the owner's manual but asked the reader to refer to local regulations, but unbonding the generator seems to be a pretty widely accepted convention in the US. This may or may not be applicable if you're using a transfer switch between the generator and panel. In all, great generator for the money, performs as advertised.

We live in Florida and decided this little BIG guy will give us a whole house generator. We love the option of Gas or Propane. It was easy to put together and prep it for the hurricane season. The quality of the generator I mean I say more it's a Westing House duh! Start time is on point and uhm hello it literally comes with a key fob. Noise level oh so much better than our old generator from 20 years ago. The features are perfect and the power it puts out is amazing.

Arrived on time and great packaging. Works great. For camping or case of emergency power outage. Love that it works on both propane, natural gas and gasoline. It started right up on propane. Little easy assembly by putting on wheels.

Minimal assembly required. All lines included to connect propane, and natural gas if you choose to go that way, a starter quart of the right oil with a handy little funnel for the 4 stroke engine if you’re burning gasoline. Good documentation. Not bad to move once the wheels are on.Has 120 and 240 outputs including one designed for being wired into your homes electrical system so it fires up automatically in a power outage. Don’t do that yourself though has to be done right to keep from killing the guys trying to get your power back on. Let’s not zap em off the poles!Several regular outlets and USB ports to run extension cords or charge items if you’re not installing it or are using it as a job site power source.Excellent generator, lots of nice features. Including a remote start fob that could be really handy if you did not install it as home backup but you’ve prepped for a storm and don’t want to actually go out in it to kick it over when the power goes out.Would buy again.

Solid & well made, sturdy, & with strong wheels. Powerful enough to power our A/C unit, 2 fridges & freezer, plus all our regular lights and devices. It is very loud, but less so than we thought it would be for something so powerful. Easy to plug in & out & easy to start. Remote start worked perfectly. Heard great things about this brand, can't wait to see how it holds up long term.

I received this generator promptly from Amazon and they followed directions perfectly setting it down near my back gate by the garage. This was preferred as I didn't want to have to move this heavy item further than necessary. It was easy to unpack and move from that location despite being a big machine.Setup went perfectly with the instructions and I sucessfully conducted the breakin period with both propane and natural gas. The generator powered all the 120 powered tools and applicances I plugged in perfectly during this breakin period.I do have a current issue that I am waiting back to hear from Westinghouse on. The 30 amp circuit does not to work and the thermal protection switch under that plug does not seem to have a spring in it -- it is permanently depressed unlike the other spring loaded protection switches. I'll update the review after I hear back from Westinghouse.

I ordered this generator after an extended power outage in the wake of a storm. I've had the chance to use it on 2 occasions since and it worked wonderfully. The remote start is a nice feature, and the ability to use propane or gasoline is nice too. You can quickly attach a propane tank (or leave one connected) without the worry of having gasoline in the tank. Then, if you need it for an extended period you can fill the tank with gasoline. While it doesn't have the power to run the full house, you can run all the important stuff, including a small air conditioner.
