The Jorgensen planes are mid-priced planes with above level performance. They all have a nice heft for following through on a cut. I like the knurled adjustment knobs, all the machining is very smooth. The palm rest on top is large and very comfortable. I had only to do a final honing with an Arkansas stone to get it to a nice cut.

Surprisingly nice block plane for the money. Arrived with a flat sole and nearly ready to go sharp iron . Throat adjustment works well, smooth depth adjustment, cap tightens well, hefty and well finished overall. Castings are smooth and paint well done. Adjustment screws are good quality . Hard to go wrong at this price.

Solid body, simple design. Almost too simple as there's not lateral adjustment so i'm having a hard time getting the blade perfectly square to the base. However, the depth adjustment is solid, runs smooth so easy to make fine adjustments. The blade was almost perfectly flat and bevel 25 deg from the mill, only took me 5 minutes to flatten, set a new bevel & hone. 10 minutes to get it cutting great. Normally would be 4 stars due to lack of lateral adjuster, but for the price, have to give 5-stars.

This truly works as advertised. It’s also well put together and firm. I have no issues with this piece when working with wood. Definitely worth the expense.

Functional little plane. It cuts fine shavings right out of the box and with a bit of fiddling, it can be made to work well. It is a good value for the price but it can be frustrating to use because the adjusters are very sloppy, rough, and not refined such as in my Veritas block plane or even an old Sanley. It has no lateral adjuster, so you have to use a hammer to adjust it laterally. Also, tightening the cap iron shift causes the blade to laterally shift. Mouth adjustment is very crude, not smooth at all, and changes from where you set it as you tighten the knob. Machining is adequate but not the best. The blade depth adjust is not smooth and has excessive backlash. The blade itseld is excellent, made of good steel and well sharpened. The reasons I gave it 4 starts are the price and once you get this plane set (if you have the patience for it) it works very well.

I really can't understand how these are so affordable. The quality of this tool is top notch. It cuts through hardwood like butter and holds it's edge beautifully

It works. I have never used one before so I can't say much. Its hefty and appears well-made. The blade was fairly sharp out the box. I am quite content with it versus the money others want for one. I look forward to learning this one one minor things and then moving on up.

This JORGENSEN NO.60-1/2 6-1/4" Wood Planer is a good value and fast shipping. The low angle will help when planing end grain and hardwood. I also like it's heavy weight. Seems well make and easy to adjust.

This is super sturdy. It just needs to be sharpened when you get it. I find it rips up chunks of wood if you don't get it sharpened. The blade is super thick so I foresee being able to sharpen this many times. It was easy to adjust and comfortable to use.
