Highly effective, no mess, mouse trap. Excellent for beginners.
Listen. Before recently ( last year, as of the time I am writing this review, ) I have had no experience dealing with mice, or using any kinds of mouse traps. I did however, know that the traditional snap mouse traps almost always cause a very unsightly mess upon successfully making a catch. It was something I definitely did not want to have to see if I could avoid it. I also would not like to have been cleaning it up. So I looked for alternative traps that do the job in a different way. Glue traps are cruel and inhumane to a very extreme degree, causing much pain and suffering, and a slow agonizing death to any mouse that happens to fall into one And as much as I dislike mice, I don't want to put the creatures through such horrific torture. They feel things, just like we humans do. I came across these Victor battery mouse traps, and they check off all the boxes. Quick, clean and deadly. I have counted 4 mice so far, and have also managed to eliminate that many. One of those four mice managed to get in and back out of the traps successfully one time only. This may have been because it was a smaller one, or because the batteries were not fully charged. It would later be caught and face the same demise of the other 3 however. With 4 out of 5 entries into these traps being "successful", I would rate the traps as having approximately an 80% success rate ( which is very good in my opinion, especially considering the clean-up it spares you, as well sparing you the need to look at the eliminated prey after the job is done.)... If used correctly, the most you will see is a tail sticking out of the entrance of the trap where the mouse went in. If you have a bag ready, turn the trap upside down before opening it, drop the mouse into the bag, and then tie the bag without aiming your eyes at whats inside, you will not have to see the mouse at all. You will feel its weight in the bag though as you carry it to wherever you are going to dispose of it. I'm very satisfied with these traps, which is why I have purchased a total of 3. Whenever I get a catch, I take the batteries out, recharge them ( Yes, I use rechargeable batteries ), and then set the trap back up again, using chocolate as bait. If you are squeamish, have a mouse problem, and want to address it in an effective manner, do not delay... These are the traps you are looking for.

Very effective, very pleased
This is the best mouse trap I've tried. Before this I was experimenting with the block baits which supposedly attract mice, but we did not have any luck at all. The blocks remained untouched. So I was looking for a way to kill mice in a very effective way without all the mess and voila! This rats effectiveness is 100% Once the mice go inside they don't go out. I can only give a few piece of advice: -Peanut butter did not work for us as many bait blocks smell like that and I guess mice learned to stay away from such odor. -I had to one day observe one mouse's movements to find the best spot to place the trap. At first I was bummed because no mice were getting caught, but once I found the correct bait and sport, I am getting results almost every day! We are currently using palmiers as bait (which are made from puff pastry and sugar, and mice seem to love that) with highly effective results. I once found two little mice inside, trapped. Getting rid of a mouse if pretty easy, you just open the lid, dispose of it, reload it, and done! No mess, no fluids, and very easy. I am considering on getting the multikill bigger model, but this one I like because its very small and very concealable. This just won't work on rats as they are bigger.

Not the kind of kill you’re after
Victor claims that this upgraded design of their electronic mouse trap can kill up to 100 mice. Perhaps by “kill” the company means to kill off the mouse’s vibe temporarily and give it a bad day - not the kind of kill you’re probably after if you’re buying this mouse trap. We had used the prior design of the Victor electronic traps for years and were extremely impressed with them. If we saw any signs of mice in our home, we would bait one, set it out, and in less than 24 hours it would catch the mouse: Problem solved. This year when we saw signs of mice it had been a few years since we had needed to use the Victor traps, and they needed replacing, so we purchased two of this new upgraded design. This time it took a few days before we had a kill which we noted was a longer time frame than usual. Well, that was the only kill that those two traps have accomplished though we have continued to see signs of mice. The “kill light” comes on and we’ve found the trap moved a bit, but no dead mouse inside. One of the traps, the one that had actually resulted in one kill, has since had all of the bait eaten while the trap is set - clearly nothing too awful is happening if you enter the trap. The previous electronic trap design had advertised that four AA batteries would result in 50 kills. The new design is claiming 100 kills with four AA batteries. Since battery power, to the best of my knowledge, has not advanced that much in the past decade, Victor’s upgraded trap must be delivering less of a shock than the one before that had actually done the job. Fed up with the Victor traps, I purchased an Owltra brand trap and baited it yesterday, sitting it right beside one of the freshly baited and set Victor traps. This morning when I checked, the Owltra trap had had its first kill…the real kind, and still nothing from the Victor. We’ll be switching brands from here on.

This is a seriously cool mouse trap! This thing makes me feel like I’m living in the future. Not only does it look the business but it’s also super easy to setup and provides a tidy, mess free mouse trapping environment. The problem with standard traps is that they can be messy when successfully activated. The problem with sticky traps is that they are effective but awfully cruel and a nightmare if you stand on one or have pets. The problem with humane traps is that mice (in my experience) just don’t use them and even if they did, they can be cruel too if you’re on holiday somewhere and the poor thing is left to starve to death. This trap, then, is the best of all worlds. It’s super easy to setup. You just separate the two compartments and put 4xAA batteries in the left side. You then open the right side (the mouse catching bit) and put a big dollop of peanut butter on the end panel. This, cleverly, has a plastic wall next to it which is perforated with holes to let the mouse sniff the goodness inside! You then click both pieces back together and switch on. When you do this, a green light shows and there is a satisfying buzz/hum to let you know that the electrification mechanism is armed. You then place the box next to a wall in a troublesome area and wait for a curious mouse to sniff the peanut butter, enter the trap and be immediately electrocuted. It’s quick, effective and there’s no mess. If a mouse enters the trap and actives it, the trap flashes a green light on top to let you know that it’s caught something. You can then safely switch it off, dispose of the mouse and wipe out the container ready for re-arming. This thing is seriously cool and works like a dream. After unsuccessfully attempted to remove mice with the other type of traps, this thing attracted and disposed of them straight away. Yes, it’s more expensive than your standard traps but it’s way more effective, much cleaner and you don’t run the risk of causing immense pain to your fingers when the setup process goes wrong! Snap!!! Highly recommended!

Funciona muy bien. Lo único, hay que colocar el cebo con cuidado para que no toque el metal, porque si no, se mantiene activada y te quedas sin batería. Eso sí: sólo vale para ratones pequeños.

Unfortunately this trap was only a trap for my money :( I have clear signs of mice in my house and I have tried using this trap all ways possible. It is almost as if the rats are laughing at you with it. I have tried several times with the recommended bait (peanut butter), and it didn’t work. Then I realized the rats were always going towards my dog’s treats, so I decided to place one on the bait tray - result: no dead mice and NO BAIT LEFT! They managed to get in and out with the bait and still alive…. Waste of money.

"No Touch, No See"-Entsorgung ist möglich.
