Great.
I was unsure whether to spend so much on this item as there are cheaper alternatives BUT I have no regrets now that I use it. It doesn't get so hot, the sound reduction is good and it's nice and light. The shield is really good too, fine mesh but doesn't block your view but does protect. The adjustment strap is set and forget so that's real convenient.

Great Helmet - Easy-ish Assembly
I wore this helmet for a couple hours today and have the following to report: • Assembly was easy, though poorly documented so uncertainty reigned. Tip: just slam stuff together, it's dead easy. • During assembly, the mesh visor was difficult to seat. I used a retracted utility knife as a way to apply a lot of force to snap the visor in place. The little retaining studs the visor popped behind did not break off. I was amazed. • The helmet is better than wearing safety glasses because the wire mesh does not fog up so you maintain excellent visibility. Some say you should wear safety glasses too. I think I'm safer when I can see and nothing drifted into my eyes through two hours of use. • The ear muffs work great. They have a metal strip in them that holds them up or against your head. You just push the muffs down and they grab your head. They are great. • The head strap is easy to adjust and the sweat band is appreciated. UPDATE: I've worn this helmet through 5 gallons of gas worth of chainsawing. It's great. I also wear it when string trimming. The ear muffs are fantastic. It is wear-all-day comfortable. The metal mesh front is fantastic. When you're bushwhacking up to a tree that is surrounded by bushes and stickers, this is a great thing to wear to keep things from poking you in your face and eyes. The only thing that has made it through the mesh is dust from rotten trees. UPDATE 2022: Bought this helmet two years ago. After much use, sweat rusted through the screen of the visor. A new Husqvarna 505665321 Metal Mesh Visor Face Screen Black Forest Helmet and I'm back in business. Wish I could have bought this on Amazon.

Wear PPE!
IMHO this helmet is perfect personal protection equipment for farm, home and ranch work. I view PPE as and investment since the economics are more affordable than the cost of an emergency room visit or hospital stay. This helmet is comfortable with adjustable liner. Ear muffs swivel and lock-in or out. Face screen will stop chips and limbs, yet fines will not stop fines. Would likely go with a more industrial unit if I were in the arborist or right-of-way industry, yet this helmet and assemblies are quality. I’m confident these helmets have prevented injuries for those who chose to wear them.

Good helmet, terrible instructions
This is a good helmet, maybe a little better the Oregon it replaced, and maybe a little better than the Stihl I tried. Truthfully, all of the helmets from those three companies are pretty good. The big flaw with this and other Husqvarna helmets is, as many have noted, the instructions, which are almost worthless. Luckily assembly is pretty obvious for all parts except the visor, and that’s not terribly difficult to figure out. My one tip is to install it on the face shield before attaching the shield to the helmet- you’ll have to flex the frame of the face shield a little to snap the visor on. Fit is good. The suspension keeps it from moving around on your head, and the ear defenders help keep in in place. There are several adjustment points that should allow for a good fit on a wide range of head sizes. The face shield is wider and deeper than on most less expensive helmets, and that was one reason I decided on this helmet. There are two very similar versions of this helmet, one with a simple ratchet adjustment of the head strap and one with a wheel-type adjustment that sells for $10 more. I thought I was ordering the wheel adjustable model, but this one is the ratchet model. I almost sent it back, but I decided that it’ll probably be fine for my occasional use. If you’re the only one wearing the helmet it doesn’t make a huge difference, but if it’ll be shared by several people you’ll want the wheel version. You’ll also want the wheel if you plan to wear this over a hood or a thin cap at times.

Works well; has industry-standard attachments; hard to get the visor on
I'd recommend this helmet, and I'd buy another one. I've used this regularly for 2+ years, but not daily. The face-shield protects my face well, but not my eyes. I wear goggles under the face-shield. The visor was very hard to attach, but one of the Amazon comments described how to do that. The visor is essential, don't give-up on getting it attached. I bought a different helmet for tree climbing (Petzel). The ear muffs and face-shield from this Husqvarna helmet fit on the Petzel well. That saved a lot of money vs. buying new ear muffs and face-shield for the Petzel. I then put 3-M ear muffs on this Husqvarna helmet, and they mounted just fine.

Great for weekend warrior
This helmet is everything I wanted it to be. Assembly was easy enough. Quality is great. Ear muffs block all the sharp sounds that fatigue your ears. Face shield is sturdy and strong. It gives you the comfort to walk though the brush without concern of face pokes. I still wear safety glasses and was comfortable with the helmet on after a full day of cutting. Never owned another helmet and no desire to try a different one. The forehead strap will get sweaty if you get sweaty. I just wipe it off and dry it out over night.

The Best, worth every penny wish I hadn't waited so long to buy this.
This solid, beautifully designed Husqvarna Head Protection Helmet fits like a Glove ! Secure, snug and comfortable, the adjustable head strap angles down in the back to perfectly fit my skull and the Ear Protectors are like nothing I have ever worn before, easy to adjust and lock in place. You can't knock this head gear off. I have previously owned 2 other Stihl brand that were a major disappointment, always coming loose and constantly falling off, never again. I just wish I hadn't waited so long to buy this.

Great backup helmet. Does what it needs to do and keeps your noggin & eyes safe! One challenge is the shield visor which I had modify & glue on as it won't stay in place and there is zero instructions on how it comes together. Very frustrating! All said and done though, this is great value for the low cost.

Overview I'm using this with a 59cc Echo Chain Saw (Timberwolf) I also use it when using line trimmers if I'm knocking down Wild Parsnip. It keeps the weed shrapnel from getting on my face...but still allows goo air flow through the screen. Assembly was relativity easy, once I gave up on trying to install the black brim on the face shield. There is just no way it will snap into place...so save your self the frustration and toss that piece in the trash. The ear muffs work great...but I find they snap into place with enough force to pop my ears a bit. I have taken to keeping my thumbs between the muffs and my ears when snapping them into position to eliminate that sensation (which will eventually make my ears ache) Overall the build quality is good, the adjustment band works well enough to get a good fit to your head. By only real beef is the lack of ventilation in the top of the hat. Tip: The helmet fits much more security with the ear muffs in the closed position (over your ears) I tend to have them in place even if noise is not my primary concern. Pros -Good Build Quality -Good ventilation from the face screen -Easy to adjust for fit Cons -No ventilation through the top of the helmet. -Shield brim was impossible to install Recommendation – Would buy it again and would recommend. <---Click below if you found this review helpful--->
