I have always loved doing my nails, I loved getting them done too. I have gotten acrylics done many times and they have always caused a lot of damage long term for my nails and has caused me so many issues. I decided one day that I wanted to do my nails at home because of this, the price would be much cheaper in the long run as well and I wouldn't be spending a ridiculous amount getting my nails done each time. I tried doing my own acrylics and that went horrible, I thought I wouldn't be able to do my nails at home, while getting the length I wanted, especially from having damaged nails from previous acrylics. I looked through ideas and ideas and I stumbled across a TikTok of someone talking about doing their nails at home, specifically gel extensions. I looked into them and stumbled across this brand specifically. Since I have gotten this brand, I have done my nails numerous times, I have saved so much money and I have just enjoyed the time doing my nails and taking me time every few weeks. These nails are super easy to apply and they last for a long time, they're also incredibly strong and don't bend easily.The brand itself is amazing and has great products. If you are like me and plan on doing your nails at home, it is a good idea to also get gel polish (colors and top coat), nail art brushes, extra nail files, a larger LED lamp for curing all of the nails at once instead of individually as well as a nail drill. All of these products have made doing my nails at home incredibly simple. It is also incredibly helpful to get nail polish remover (a big bottle) and some cotton pads, and some of those nail holders for easy removal.When you are removing the nails, it is as simple as cutting the ends, giving them a little bit of a file and soaking them in nail polish remover. They come off super easy and leave no damage to your nails. My nails have always been healthy and strong, and doing my nails like this has kept them healthy and strong, and helped them grow as well.For long lasting nails, I find it helpful to use the clear gel that comes with this and apply it to your nail, cure for 30 seconds so its not completely cured, buff the inside of the nail a little (with acetone/nail polish remover, or the nail drill), pull the nail a little bit away from the cuticle to leave space for growth, and then blend the nail to the natural nail for easy and seamless growth.Hopefully that is some help! After a year of salon sets hurting my wallet, I got brave and decided to give it a go on my own. I'm a novice at doing my own nails, figuring out the trends as they come and learning to do them on my own (RIP to all the dip stuff I bought previous to this lol). This was so straight forward to use, forgiving, and honestly way easier than I thought it was going to be. I'm juiced to both have another creative outlet and to save literally hundreds of dollars a month. My only minor critique is that the small space between the light and the touchpad is a bit tricky if you have "big" hands or fingers, but not impossible. And I would say the touch feature is way better than having to push a real button to turn the light on/off each time, just takes a bit of maneuvering to get my chonky mits in there! Also love the etching option to not have to do that part myself. Now if only I could find a quicker removal system, I'd be all set!

I’ve used Beetles products for about two years now and have always loved them. I don’t have very strong nails, they’re constantly breaking so the Gel extensions were super intriguing. I also don’t want to pay to keep my nails done constantly so I figured I’d give it a shot. I do have a background in cosmetology and I watched a lot of YouTube videos of the Gel X process to get an idea of the process and gather tips and tricks. I don’t own a nail drill so I did all of this with files and buffer blocks. Overall, I’m super happy with the results. It was a fairly easy process and took me just over an hour from start to finish. There’s definitely room for improvement as far as my technique but they look pretty darn close to salon quality. I don’t know about longevity yet since I’ve only had them on for about two days but they feel really secure and strong. Couple of tips:-Make sure you have a stronger UV light than the little one it comes with. That is strictly just for flash curing.- it helps to invest in a nail dehydrator and nail primer. I bought a duo on amazon.- the “short almond” style is still really long in my opinion. I cut them down and filed back into shape. I took off one star for this reason. Already placed an order for “extra short almond” to compare.- I’m a stay at home mom so I bought a pair of gloves for the never ending dish washing to hopefully extend the life of my nails 😂I finished them off with a Beetles polish and I bought some chrome powder as well and I love the finished look. Definitely worth a try if you have even a sliver nail knowledge and some patience!
