Matte Black/Clear Mirrored Lens Review: Comfy glasses and can take BBS without any damage or cracks Review: These glasses are pretty comfortable, and not huge on my head. I wear a hat size 7 3/8, if that helps for a size reference. They fit pretty well for me without needing any adjusting to stay up. One important thing is that these are listed as clear lenses. Technically they are, but they do have a flash mirror coating on the front. This does cause a slight reduction in light passing through the lenses. It makes them appear to have a slight tint to them, but not anything that would be trouble for me at all. Visual clarity is good on these, and I detect no distortions in the lenses at all. Not sure how the scratch resistance will be, but I intend to keep them in the included case when they're not on my head, so I'm not too worried. Very happy with these glasses. They look a lot better on than most safety/shooter glasses.

Best glasses for shooting hands down

I purchased these glasses to take a live fire close quarters tactical firearms safety course. I read many of the reviews and decided to purchase these based on those reviews and the great price point. The largest decision factor was that these are rated to MIL-PRF 32432 impact standard which was a requirement of the shooting range conducting the course. I read in the reviews that the actual lenses have a slight mirror finish even though the pictures show clear lenses. Some of the reviewers pictures showed a slight mirror finish. My lenses appeared to have a complete mirror finish when wearing them. The glasses arrived quickly and the packaging is good to protect them. They came with a carry case and cleaning cloth. Removing them from the package I had the immediate impression of quality. They fit very well and were very comfortable wearing them with and without electronic hearing protection headsets. They also did not seem to fog up wearing a face mask however I was inside in a space with powerful air exchange units. I have absolutely no problems recommending these as I found no fault or problems. However, the shooting range I was at is an inside range and they have a very strict rule that all safety glasses have no tint because the range is dark. The nature of the course required the range instructor to have the ability of direct eye contact with each participant during each instruction phase prior to the live fire exercises. The instructor spotted my new glasses immediately and questioned me if they were tinted. There is a slight tint and it was a little less dark when I removed them. The instructor allowed me to continue that day only but when shooting ceased I had to remove the glasses so he could see my eyes. He asked me to not use them going forward. My circumstances were unique and in this case the mirrored lenses made these not usable for me and reluctantly I am returning them.

These appear to be good quality shooting glasses, and I hope to never rest their quality with a pierced primer. I have just had my eye lenses surgically replaced, and I will be wearing these glasses outdoors 24/7 to protect my eyes from flying debris. That is my perspective in this review, and my use may not be yours. These glasses are very comfortable, they fit well, and after one day they appear to be optically correct. They do not look military and you will not be mistaken for a crazy shooter. The case is cheap but useable. Now for the negative stuff. The lenses are NOT clear: they have a 5% gray tint, mostly at the top which fades to nothing at the bottom. You can wear them at night but to others they look like sunglasses, day or night. If you have a traffic stop at night, police will ask why you’re driving with sunglasses at night and they will order you to remove them so they can see your pupils. And last but not least, these glasses are prominently branded on both temples. I do not like being a walking advertisement, but the beans are well printed and I don’t think I could remove them without spoiling the finish. That is why I took one star off my review of these well designed and inexpensive shooting glasses.
