Acurel LLC (3 Pack) Nitrate Reducing Media Pad Aquarium and Pond Filter Accessory, 10-Inch by 18-Inch

This product does exactly what it says it will do! I had been searching for a product that reduced nitrates in my aquariums, and nothing really worked until I used Acurel Nitrate Reducing Pads! It truly works, and quickly too!

I use these pads in a few of my canister filters and they work great. They are pretty easy to cut and last a good amount of time if your using something like a pre-filter to keep the bio off them. Saved me a ton of money using these instead of the fluval media bags that do the same thing.

purchased this product a while back and use it constantly, but the results are disappointing. It makes a great filter, however, my Nitrate level stays at 10 ppm, period. I do weekly water changes, 20% and vacuum the gravel once a month. I change the Acurel filter weekly. Looking up at the bottom of the tank glass, the gravel is completely clean. I have been using Seachem Pristine also. I have no Phosphate, readings between 0.0 and 0.25 ppm. I keep 13 small fish in a 29 gal. tank. Needles to say I am disappointed.

Valuable product for nitrate control. Won't correct the problem, but eliminates the toxin while getting your nitrate issue corrected

I had rising Nitrate levels all the time. Got this and after a couple weeks it has stayed stable ever since. Reduced water change frequency. Really good at capturing everything. waters always clear. You cut them with razor knife and you get a lot of usable pieces from each sheet. With the 3 packs of sheets each filter cost almost nothing. Replaced entire filter in my small Aqueon and added it on top of my Agua Clear filter set. So I rinse them after 2 weeks and toss them when I clean tank at 4 weeks.

It seems my nitrate levels have been lower since using these filter pads. Unfortuntely, this product hasn't made the noticeable change their ammonia pads have for me.

Tested before and after time with API test kit - no reduction in nitrates. Other option: get a strong anion resin filter cartridge and pump water through it if you want to remove nitrates from either aquarium water or make up water. Either omnipure or intelifil brand anion resin.

Great, works just fine and keeps my levels low, would buy again and will buy again
