20 out of 20 good, super happy
The media could not be loaded. I had low expectations for the price, but they're great! They're just regular, full size, functional orienteering compasses. All 20 lined up pointing perfect north. The dial spins freely with enough resistance to stay in place when you don't want it to move. The housing is liquid filled with no bubbles. I have a slight preference for a classic straight needle instead of the tapered sides like this has, but no big deal. I can tilt the base 10 or 15 degrees before the needle starts to bind up on the housing and not track north any more, which feels standard to me. I don't feel like I have to tap on it or jiggle it to confirm that it's settled. You can tell from the way it oscillates smoothly after swinging around that the needle is tracking right, you just have to hold it flat. I wanted to test the consistency of the magnetic strength across all 20, so I did a somewhat scientific test of holding each compass perfectly flat, and spinning the dial as fast as I could until the turbulence of the liquid in the housing overcame the magnet and spun it around. They all took 4 or 5 spins to get there, except for three compasses, which were a bit more sluggish. Still totally fine though. And even if a needle was completely demagnetized, you can fix it in a couple of seconds with a strong neodymium magnet. I'm super happy! I bought these for a Trail Life troop to teach orienteering, and I don't have any concerns about the boys having a bad experience because the compass is low quality. Oh, the lanyard is pretty mediocre and kind of short, but you could replace that easily.

Doesn’t hold north!! China junk
Very poor quality performance. If you want to know where north is don’t buy these. I had to put one star to submit this but I give it no stars. I missed the return window so I threw them out.

Bezel is backwards
The bezel Ring's arrow is facing south. It can be used with adjustment if you know it's wrong. When comparing alignment between compasses, there are some that are off by eight degrees.

Not awful for the price.
I bought this pack to use with my land nav students.Out of 25, 20 of them calibrated true.Five of them did not calibrate true and can't be used for land nav.

Great for the price
These are perfect for giving out to the troops. They don't cost much and work well. Durable too.

Total junk
Really was hoping for this price but none of them work. Looked at a dozen and gave up. They are liquid filled, no air. But the needles do not float level or freely rotate. And for some reason they will attract to a finger on the dial and follow. No clue on the physics of that. But all were worthless.
