Very solidly built, but for bacon, the 6 inch will require you cut your bacon in half
I’m giving this five stars because it is what it is. Allow me to explain it. It’s very solid and built like a tank but a bit on a small side for something like bacon., however, it’s what it said it was,, 6 inches diameter. Can’t blame the company I had looked for a 7 inch but most of the products in that category were not very good looking or not that heavy, at least not in the stainless department. I didn’t want the trouble of taking care of a cast-iron one, although, They are nice and heavy. If you don’t mind, making sure you don’t leave them wet in the sink. I’ll tell you one thing for sure, I was tempted to go for some lighter units, but having picked this up out of the box, I was glad I didn’t. I would say 2 pounds would be the minimum you would want for something that you’re going to use as a weighted item. I was glad that some people mentioned that the rectangular ones didn’t fit in their pan, because sure enough, they certainly aren’t going to fit in a smaller frying pan and even a bigger one because you have to consider the width of the unit, not only it’s length. In other words, its as long at the corners as it is in the center, which means it’s not going to fit in a round pan that measures eight inches .across in the center. Perhaps an 8 inch round one might just squeak by depending on the side angle of your fry pan. Anyway, if you don’t mind the smaller size and cutting your bacon in half, this one is definitely a nice unit. Absolutely no sharp edges anywhere like some people mentioned on the other units available. This thing is quality all the way! I just wish they had an in-between size.

Perfect size and weight for smashing burgers!
I made my first smash burgers tonight and while my technique needs some tweaking, I am confident that I chose the right burger press. This 2lb Burger Smasher is outstanding! It made quick work of totally flattening my 2 oz patties, and it's large enough that I'm confident it could handle a 2.5 oz patty should I decide to go a little bigger. The surface of my baking steel was over 600F (I have an awesome gas stove!), and this smasher performed admirably. My hands never got hot, and the patties were super thin. My first patty stuck due to operator error, but once I remembered to press and hold instead of immediately lifting it off, the problem was solved. This 2 lb Smasher is well priced, attractive, simple to use, comfortable to hold and cleans up easily. It's winner all the way around. I'm looking forward to round two of burger smashing!

Solid, reliable, and makes perfect smash burgers.
I recently added this cast iron burger press to my grilling toolkit, and it’s been a fantastic addition. The 2-pound weight provides just the right amount of pressure to create those crispy, caramelized edges on smash burgers without overdoing it. The heat-resistant silicone handle stays cool to the touch, making it easy to maneuver even on a hot griddle. Beyond burgers, I’ve used it to press bacon and sandwiches, achieving evenly cooked results every time. The cast iron construction retains heat well, contributing to consistent cooking. Cleaning is straightforward—just a quick rinse and dry, though I make sure to season it lightly to maintain its condition. One minor drawback is its size; while it’s perfect for individual patties, it might be a bit small if you’re cooking multiple items simultaneously. Also, being cast iron, it’s heavier than some other presses, which might not suit everyone’s preference. Overall, this burger press delivers on its promises. It’s durable, effective, and a must-have for anyone serious about their grilling.

Great tool, poor packaging
The smasher is great. It’s a good thing it’s sturdy because the packaging was totally destroyed because it was shipped in a tyvec bag.

Great for smash burgers
Yeah, this is a great for making smash burgers. I’ve used it for some other things as well, but it is very heavy and works really well. The surface doesn’t stick at all when you use it on hamburger, which is awesome.

Small size perfect for burgers and cooking in small fry pans
I use a cast iron press for bacon, smash burgers, and browning ham slices and other things. I love it. But the one I had worked only in my large pans and flat griddles. I have a 7 inch cast iron I love because I can cover it and splash water in for steaming - great for perfect, quick sunny-side up fried eggs, hash browns, and many other things. But I couldn't smash or press in it with my standard rectangular cast iron press. This little beauty works in this pan. It is also perfect for smash burgers with all kinds of mixed-in fillings. It is heavy and solid, so great to purpose. The silicone handle is cool even when the press is very hot. It is easy to set down on handle and edge upside down and pick up while cooking so that the bottom press surface does not touch anything. Easy to clean with water and stays clean with water only (no soap) when treated like cast iron - oil surface when you get it and occasionally. If you do slip up and it gets a bit rusty, scrub with steel wool and water, dry, and oil again. Easiest way to dry is sit it on a warm cast iron pan. I love the twisty ridge grooves and what they do for burgers and sausage. Did I mention sausage?

Easily smashed to large burgers at a time, heavy, solid and leaves great lines. Very satisfied.

Great burger press with a nice heavy weight to it. The polished coating makes cleaning a breeze compared to cast iron alternatives. I use to cook steaks to get a nice sear and it works like a charm. The rubber coated handle makes it easy to hold when it gets too hot.
