Hard drive adapter for most hard drives or optical drives.
This is perfect with one downside that it does not appear to read SMART info off hard drives. Amazing having the ability to read sata drives 2.5 and 3.5, optical drives and both PATA drives. Old tech but sometimes its useful. Has worked great for every drive I tried.

Works great
Worked like a charm on every old drive I have with no problems at all. Supplies enough power for the really old 3.5 drives also. Was able to retrieve lots of forgotten files and photos with this setup. It's plastic but should be durable enough for casual use. Very simple to connect and comes with instructions for jumpers (master, slave, cable) also.

Worked Perfectly to Save Old Data
I used this adapter to recover data from an old desktop hard drive from the early 2000s, and it worked exactly as I hoped. It connected easily to both 3.5" IDE and SATA drives, and my computer recognized them right away via USB 3.0. It also came with a power supply for older drives, which was essential for the larger 3.5" IDE HDD I was using. I was able to access files, transfer them quickly, and even test an old CD/DVD drive without issues. Pros: ✔️ Easy plug-and-play setup ✔️ Supports both IDE and SATA (2.5" and 3.5") ✔️ Includes power adapter for older drives ✔️ USB 3.0 speeds for faster transfers Cons: ❌ IDE cable is a bit short and bulky, but manageable ❌ No power switch — you unplug to turn off Summary: If you need to rescue data from an old hard drive or test older components, this adapter is a great tool. It saved important files from a machine I hadn’t powered on in over 20 years.

It just works
I've used this device with both 3.5, 2.5 HDDs, both SATA and IDE. I've used the powered option as well. Works like a USB device in Windows, no driver needed, just plug and play. The lights on the device let you know it's working and connected. I selected this because it has 3 connection types plus the power option for larger drives that requires 12v (Old school HDDs, SSDs usually don't require external power). Great device for cloning between two devices or rescuing a failing device. I used this to confirm a HDD failure by removing it from my PC and trying to restore data on a second PC

I find it very useful
It works as it should. Im running windows 11. It has helped me recover tons of memories of family photos and all my music from the last 25 years. I wish it organized all this information. 😄 🤣 😂 😆

Works great
I got this mostly to be able to recover data that was stored on a Western Digital Cloud drive that bit the dust in an electrical storm. I removed the HDD from the burned up unit so I could get access to it. This was a 2 TB drive with all of my documents, photos, and other important data backed up on it. Fortunately, I had piggybacked another external drive to it so had a backup of the backup. It was very easy to connect the adapter to the my computer with the included USB-A cable. With the wall ward plugged in and connected to the adapter, as soon as I turned the power switch on I could hear the disk spin up. The drive was immediately recognized by my computer in the File Manager. I guess Western Digital uses a special codex to store the data because the file manager showed a fist full of drive letters. Literally every thing from drive A-Z and then from AA-ZZ. No data was recognizable so no data to move. The adapter allowed me to quickly use the disk manager to delete all of the partitions and get down to a single drive. At that point I connected the drive that I had used to piggy back the data and copied it quickly onto the newly formatted 2 TB drive. The adapter is small, has ports for almost any drive you can imagine, and allows for fast access to data access or saving. If you have a stack of drives sitting around and you want to move data around, you connect 3 drives to the adapter, connect it to your computer and move things in any direction you want.

My favorite USB to drive adapter, and I own others!
I purchased this product around the same time that I purchased a competitive product. The reason that I purchased two devices with the same approximate function was I had a need to back up drives and occasionally the drives would be of the same kind, i.e. SATA to SATA, IDE to IDE, and so forth. Neither device could accommodate two drives of the same type so I purchased a secondary USB drive adapter that I thought would function as my backup USB to disk adapter. The other device was a big, hulking plastic monstrosity that was poorly designed and constantly bent IDE pins and quickly proved itself so frustrating that I now only use that product when I have to. This product is now my primary and I haven't looked back or regretted the change once. I found this product to be elegant by comparison to the other - for instance you could see where the connector was making contact with the drive and therefore no bent pins! No more blindly hoping your drive makes proper contact with the adapter without damaging one or the other. Imagine! In addition, this product's claim of USB 3.0? It's legit. Here is output from /var/log/messages I collected just now: "bcdUSB 3.00". The other product? It is not usb 3.0 despite packaging claims that it is. When purchasing an item to act as a USB to disk adapter being able to connect to drives via USB 3.0 instead of 2.0 can make a big difference. Another win for me is the fact that this is a powered USB disk adapter. During normal use I have the drive adapters plugged into a Raspberry Pi 4, a small single-board computer that is very low-power in comparison to modern desktops and laptops. The extra power for the adapter is greatly appreciated because without it I could not power larger form-factor SATA drives or IDE drives and likely others. The adapter plugged into the wall provides a nice, steady flow of power that in turn powers the drives connected to it when necessary and that keeps things working smoothly. If pressed and I had to make a complaint about this product I would say that when connected to a SATA drive the connection feels like it would be easy to pull apart by accident. Just be careful and don't handle the drive while it is in use (especially a spinning platter drive for obvious reasons) and you won't have a problem. How much do I like this product? Enough that I am going to purchase a second one so I no longer have to deal with the other disk adapter. At this price the product pays for itself in time saved fixing IDE pins I would have bent with the other adapter.

Great, when it works
Although this should have worked on ALL of the drives I tested, it actually worked on about half. SO CONVENIENT when it works, and so portable, that I will continue using it for as long as it holds out. That said, I recommend an internal interface for those drives that it fails to work with. IT is good, but not perfect.
