Loose Leaf Darjeeling
This was my first pack of loose leaf tea to try, I'm fed up of tea bags. I have no idea what Darjeeling tastes like, and I just pluped for this based on price and reviews. This is a delicious, flavourful brew.I don't like strong tea - well not builders' tea anyway, so, using an in-cup tea strainer type thingy I steeped the first attempt for 3 minutes. Tried it without milk - I always take milk in my tea. Ugh. So I added some milk - much better but too weak and thin tasting Then I noticed the instructions on the tin said 5-10 minutes, so next time I tried 5 minutes -much better. I have now settled on 4 minutes for a well-heaped teaspoon or leaves in an in-cup strainer/brewerThe actual leaves are something to behold - great, big quality tea leaves. I am impressed. The canister is nice - it's solid and the lid fits well, but now I've got one I don't need another - so I'll be on the look out for a box next time

Excellent quality loose leaf tea
It is so difficult to find good quality loose leaf tea. This tea is the genuine product. Excellent flavour and obviously genuine good quality leaves. One of the tests is to look inside the pot or glass once the tea has been consumed. The leaves have regenerated and there is almost no sediment or cloudiness (which you get with many other brands, because many other brands use all the "dust" as well to achieve high margins and more weight.Another test is to make your tea in a double walled tall glass (which is my preferred way when on my own) and put a saucer or small plate on top. With this method, with this loose leaf tea, you will know your tea is ready when all the leaves have fallen to the bottom and see there is no dusty surface or cloudiness. Finally, with this tea, the result is always a lovely clear beverage with no cloudiness or scum on the surface. It is not inexpensive but it is such good quality loose leaf tea, it is possible to top up with hot water and enjoy a second drink. The great quality, compared with many others, also means it is possible to use less per pot.Strongly recommend this product.

Nice taste
Considering the price, it is a good quality. Obviously you shouldn't expect prime quality for that price, but it taste really good, it was really nicely complimenting the Persian dish we had. Would recommend. It is very light bodied, not too strong, as you would expect from a Darjeeling tea.

Not quite what what I was used to at first, but get the quantity right for the brew and...
Editing this posting after second cup of this tea... It's delicious and nicer than any supermarket brand.Below is original post. I had used the same amount of tea to make a pot as the Waitrose Darjeeling version, and it came out a bit overpowering (and is what I based my original review on). This tea does take much less to make a brew and is so much nicer than the Waitrose stuff too. Has that light fruitiness I remember loving as a kid..I'm leaving my original review below so buyers can see that it shouldn't be made too strong! Not so sure about this version of my favourite tea. I do find it quite "heavy, and that it leaves quite a strong tannin coating in your mouth (which I am actually used to and enjoy in traditional tea). It just seems slightly out of place with the delicacy I am used to as goes darjeeling.I am not a tea expert though, so this could in fact be considered better by tea experts than the ones I'm used to.It's pleasant and inexpensive enough and the tin is great for future tea orientated purposes, so I am giving it four stars!

Three Stars
OK quality, reasonable price, but a bit too broad in flavour for Darjeeling.

A very nice brew!
With other brands skyrocketing in price for a nice darjeeling, I gave Ahmad's loose leaf darjeeling a try. And I couldn't be happier with it. Lovely flavour, capturing all the taste of those more expensive brands available on here at a much more cost effective price. What's more to say about a good cuppa? As my taste buds have changed from an english breakfast, Ahmad's darjeeling serves as a great flavoursome cup when I swap from coffee to tea in the afternoons.Highly recommended.

Tastes like tree bark.
While there is definitely an element of tea once brewed, it seems like this may be poor quality or reject tea leaves, or perhaps their quality control is just that terrible, because it tastes and smells distinctly like bits of tree bark are mixed in with the leaves when brewed. I don't know about anyone else but I don't come to my tea wanting it to taste of wood. I could not comment on whether the actual tea taste is any good due to the wooden taste being so completely overpowering that I had to pour the brew down the drain, repeatable across many attempts just to be sure.
