Brutal but effective
I was reluctant to get these as I always prefer to catch and release, but I couldn't take any more after moving into a very old house that was over run with all manner of creepy crawlies and giant spiders. I have tried all the 'humane' methods like conkers, repellent sprays etc but nothing worked. These do exactly what they claim to do. They trap anything that crawls across them. I have not had one free running critter since I put these in each room. Finding the best place to put them takes a bit of trial and error, but they work. Brutally simple and effective. The stickiness lasts for ages, but check them as if they get dusty they obviously don't work as well. You will almost certainly be both surprised and horrified by what you find in them. You realise how many things run around your house that you were previously (mostly) blissfully unaware of. Revolting when they get full up and you have to pick them up to dispose of them - just try not to look :-/ Totally effective, if placed carefully.

These do some work if you place a lot and/or in the right place
These do definitely catch most spiders. It's possible but unlikely for something to escape once it goes inside. My cats learned to avoid them too. It's better to place a lot of them, since there's no bait and it still relys on the spiders going inside in the first place, I just place them in corners, along walls or where I spotted a spider e.g. under the washing machine and it'll eventually catch it. There's no getting around the arachnophobia even of a caught spider though, but it's better than the alternative of them running around.

A reflective review...
I am one of those people who are not exactly phobic to spiders, but I don't appreciate them crawling all around me either. I do believe in live and let live and as such, most of the times my partner and I would just trap the little monsters under an inverted glass and release them outside, all the while knowing that sooner or later they would return indoors. But we didn't mind the catch-and-release too much. Until our baby started crawling around two months ago. She's a curious little mite as you can imagine a little baby to be and we were terrified that she will one day catch or even try swallowing a random spider out of her baby curiosity. And we didn't want to take any risks, hence our purchase. The Product - For what it's worth, the product does exactly what it says on the pack i.e. catch crawling spiders/other bugs. Each pack contains 3 traps. These are long narrow strips of cardboard with a super-sticky side. You fold each length into a triangle and place it in high bug-traffic area. When the bugs try to walk through the triangle, they get stuck in the sticky glue and cannot escape. In the first 24 hours, our traps caught 5 spiders (one giant, two medium and two smaller ones). The second day, the traps caught 4 more medium/small spiders. After than, the sticky side of the traps appeared to deteriorate in performance significantly and we could see the bugs walking in and out of the traps at leisure. I assume that fine dust particles in the air finally reduce the trap performance and you simply throw out the piece of cardboard with the bugs stuck on inside. Why the 4 stars - Okay so the product is great in performance - for its results, it is reasonably priced. It is non-toxic so safe for the environment. And as long as your babies/toddlers keep away from the traps, you've pretty much got the ideal solution. The reason I gave it 4 stars is this: I think despite its simplicity, it's a cruel solution to a spider problem. I know it sounds extreme and especially if you are phobic to spiders, you wouldn't have any sympathetic thoughts in your circumstances. But you know what: one of the spiders that was caught on day 1 was still alive and wriggling miserably on day 3 :'( Imagine this: it was painfully stuck, hungry, vulnerable and defenseless. And to top it off, it was slowly starving to death. This is what i don't like about the traps: the bugs are neither dead nor properly alive and it's really painful for them. I eventually asked my partner to put the bug out of its misery by squishing it. I know some of you might find this paranoid - why should we care when it is THEY who are invading OUR homes. But the truth is none of God's creatures deserve to be physically tormented this way. The verdict - The sad truth is, there isn't any product on the market as yet that I've found to be truly eco-friendly/safe and which deals with spider invasion properly i.e. without truly harming them. I think the best way to use this insect trap is this. If you have a really bad spider infestation, go ahead and put up the traps. Then 24 or 48 hours later, squish and chuck the traps that have caught any bugs. Then spray all the entrance points of your home with a natural spider repellant (I've read about a mixture of vinegar and any citrus essential oil that deters spiders). This strategy would mean that you have controlled the numbers of spiders indoors and you are preventing any new bugs from entering. Rapidly squishing the caught bugs would mean you are making sure they are not slowly starving to death (no way an ideal solution but certainly the lesser of two evils). I hope this review makes some sense. Thanks for reading.

These work but don't use if you have pets!!!!
Okay this WORKS. Don't fold the trap up, lay it flat so it can catch big things. I had been terrorised by that spider for days, pulled out the washing machine and fridge trying to murder it to no avail. Theorised the giant f**ker was living behind the baseboard. Put the trap down in front of the baseboard and in a couple hours it had GOT IT. I got scammed on those ultrasonic repellents (they do nothing don't get any) but these traps work! The glue is super sticky so as you can see in the pic, only a tiny bit of leg needs to touch the trap and the beast gets stuck. Be careful though, whatever you use to squash it will stick to the trap too, so wrap it in kitchen paper. You get 3 traps in a pack. Next time I see a web I'm putting a trap down immediately bc I'm literally terrified of spiders. CAUTION: These are very cruel to use if you have any rodents in the building, so please don't use them if you do! Don't use if you have pets bc I'm guessing once something is stuck in this it won't come out easily and your pet could get it's nose stuck and suffocate while you're out

Fails its core job
While the product does its job in terms of use, value and adhesion, this is just terms selected to make its rating appear better than it is. Having used a trap, it puts insects through unnecessary levels of torture, does not instantly kill them, and ultimately fails as a trap, even if it meets specially selected ratings likely selected by Rentokil. The spray is good, but the traps are awful - will never buy again

These work great
I bought these last year to try, they work great, they caught all the spiders that came in my house! I have bought more this year, so far the only spiders I have seen are what's caught in these traps, I highly recommend getting these if Yr like me and scared of spiders :)

Mis en place depuis 2 ans, ça fonctionne encore. Une araignée de type "Big Mamma" vient de se faire coller aux pattes de devant. C'est la première a être passée par l'intérieur, ... les autres contournent.
