Beautiful book, beautifully illustrated!
Everything about this book is first class. I had spent some time choosing the edition I hoped would suit my grandchildren and I am so pleased I settled on this one.The lovely smooth paper, clear print, beautifully coloured pictures and the content couldn't be bettered. The stories are clear and are the next step up from the introductory picture books which started my grandchildren's interest at three years old. It really is a book to be treasured and passed on from child to child.

Lots of life lessons to learn with this book
This book is really lovely, a book that can be read to all ages and treasured as time goes on, true classic stories teaching good from bad, right from wrong. I love how all the stories are in categories from -friendship (the lion and the mouse)GREED (the goose that laid golden eggs)PRIDE (the hare and the tortoise)COMEUPPANCE (the boy who cried wolf)And even more, with lots more lessons to learn. the drawings in the book are really cute too very bright and delicate and the writting is big, making it easy to read, the stories them self are just long enough to keep children focused.

Classic Tales Revived
Aesop's fables, attractively illustrated in a form just right for four years plus, and suitable for young learning reders themselves. Just a note to say that Usborne have a number of similar books, the ones specifically titled "For Very Young Children" have much simplert text and are more for those arouynd two years of age.

Usbourne did it again
I've developed somewhat of an affinity to the Usbourne books. Having bought a few others from their series, i have always been impressed with the writing and illustrations they contain. The author conveys the narratives in a way that is descriptive but not convoluted. Furthermore, the books themselves are of a high quality and can withstand the rigorous handling that tends to occur when children read. For me though, the best thing about these books is that they can be used as bed time stories as well as being used for personal reading materials for the little ones.

Something to be treasured!
I bought this as a belated birthday present for my little sister as it's nice to have some storybooks and growing up, I had more than I could count!Having already bought her a book of fairytales, I decided to try something else and then came across Aesop. I remembered my mum reading these to me as a child from a book we had of Aesop's Fables and after seeing how beautiful the cover looked, (and the good reviews), I just had to buy it.Upon receiving it, I briefly flicked through and loved how all of the fables were divided into categories. I was glad that there were all of the ones I know best, (the Tortoise and the Hare, the Ant and the Grasshopper, the Boy Who Cried Wolf, the Wolf in Sheep's Clothing, the Fox and the Crow, etc.), as well as many others. I also love how the morals are included and are printed right at the end of each story. The illustrations are beautiful and it really is something to be treasured over the years.

Beautiful and not too big
A lovely version of the book, with lots of good illustrations. A little smaller than I expected, but at least it's not too big.

A really enjoyable book to read with children
My five year old son loves this book! The tales are beautifully retold & the illustrations are beautiful. A really enjoyable book to read together! I also love that it states the moral of the story at the end which is a nice way to prompt a discussion with the child.
