This ruler is clear. The numbers, hash marks, and layout lines are BLACK, outlined in WHITE. And the numbers are BIG. That makes all the measurements visible whether you're work piece is dark or light color. I use this 24" model for sewing and embroidery. Great for a rotary cutter straight edge. This, and several smaller models, are in my drafting box as well. These rulers work great for not only sewing, but graphic art, carpentry, hanging pictures, just about anything that's flat.Pics show the ruler over several dark and light fabrics.

This ruler is fantastic. It is very accurate and I drizzled clear hot glue on the back so it doesn't slide around. The only thing is, if you use it for cutting with any kind of knife, it can cut into the edge of the ruler if you are a klutz like me. Otherwise, it's easy to read, sturdy and thick enough to hold true. You can't beat the price.

Very sturdy. I use it (along with my handheld rotary cutter) to trim foil for hot foiling. It's a bit large but well marked and accurate.

This is a great ruler. The ruler is 18 x 3 and it works great. The numbering on the ruler is black with a white outline so you can see the numbers on dark and light material. The ruler is thick enough so it will not break easily. I am glad I bought this ruler and it was very cheap.

This is my first sewing ruler.When I first received it, the ruler came with a slight bend, which did not allow it to lay flat.I found that annoying so i used a heat gun, heated to about 300° F, and pressed down on the sewing ruler with some weights and heated it for several minutes, evenly heating the entire ruler.After that, I let it cool for about 15 minutes, for it to settle into its new flat shape.This is the first time I did this technique and it worked--perfectly flat ruler.Other than that, I like the two-tone markings and numbers, which allows you to see the markings and numbers in dark and light fabric without issue, and the hole at the top to allow you to hang the ruler.

Perfect for what I wanted, thick rule for fabric cutting.

I got into sewing six months ago and this is in my top five favorite purchases. It’s been a game changer. Ruler is thick and durable, and it’s so helpful to be able to see through it when I’m lining up and making my measurements. I use it almost daily. Highly recommend.
