I recently replaced a vertically shaped rectangle thermostat with a horizontally shaped rectangle thermostat. This caused the paint underneath the old thermostat to show above the new one.The larger plate did not cover the approximately 2" difference in shape between new and old, but I was able to elongate the hole in the drywall and shift the hole thermostat assembly up to give a finished appearance. This was a lot easier than repainting the wall, and it looks good.This set of two plates will work well in many applications with some slight adjustments of thermostat mounting location.

The thermostat mounting plate exceeded my expectations, easy to install, quality and look.

Had to use this to create a gap between the wall and the smart thermostat as it can only accept one cable per connection while my hvac have some connections that uses two wires so I had to use wire twist to combine with another wire for the smart thermostat connection. The wire twist, although small, needs some space so this fits in creating that gap.

Pretty fancy looking. Still does just the basic functions of the old models.

I had an old model thermostat and was updating to a new one. The hole in the wall did not match any of the more modern thermostats and I thought I had to have my painter do a patch. Found this nifty frame and it solved the problem in a flash!

It had clear and easy instructions. All the wires had to be disconnected and reconnected. That was the only difficult part.
