Reliable and Easy to Use!
These BENFEI USB-C to DVI adapters are exactly what I needed to connect my MacBook to an older monitor. They work flawlessly—just plug and play with no drivers required. The build quality is solid, and the connection is stable with no flickering or signal loss. I’ve tested them with both 2022 and 2021 MacBooks, and they perform consistently well. Great value for a 2-pack, especially if you need a backup or use multiple setups. Highly recommended for anyone needing a simple and effective USB-C to DVI solution!

M4 Mac mini to 2010 Cinema display. YES.
Works well with my 2025 Mac mini M4, and much older 2010 Apple Cinema Display. It's not a 4K screen so USB C is fine. Well made, solid construction, looks good with Apple products.

Faulty - but replaced and working okay
It shows the monitor for around 2-3 seconds then stops; That said, I have had another one of these exact same adapters which has worked non-stop for 3 years without a problem, so I assume I have just been unlucky. I'm sending it back and will look for another one. Returned, ordered another one which worked fine and has been faultless. I guess I was just unlucky!

Great value for money
This is a great alternative to an original Apple one and actually it was an Apple tec that suggested it. I am on my second one but the first one did last for many many years so I was actually happy enough to purchase again as it was still cheaper than buying a new large screen!

Brings old monitors back to life!
This has enabled me to connect an old Apple Cinema Display to my Mac mini with ease. Worked first time, no issues.

Works with 20" Apple Cinema Display and Macbook pro 2021 M1 Pro 14"
Works with 20" Apple Cinema Display and Macbook pro 2021 M1 Pro. And I'm very happy about that. I connected it to the DVI-D on the Cinema display. I plugged it into the mac and then I powered up the Mac. The mac is on battery power as opposed to mains power. The picture quality seems the same as my previous connection on Mid 2014 Macbook Pro which I used a DVI-D to mini displayport adapter with. I'm very happy I can use this monitor. I previously bought a mini display port to USB-C connector. That didn't work. I researched it and that connection will not work. If you want to use an older Apple 20" (Aluminium case) with a new Macbook pro 2021 M1 Pro 14", from my experience this connector works fine.

Best solution for attaching a DVI connected Apple Cinema HD Screen to a modern Mac
My Mac mini 2018 has an HDMI port and 3 Thunderbolt / USB-C ports. Since purchase I had connected my 2006 Apple Cinema HD display, that uses a DVI connector, via a DVI to HDMI adaptor supplied by Apple. The weakness of this connector was that, at intervals and often when rebooting, the display would switch to stochastic grey snow with only a ghost of the Apple Logo or other content showing. The solution – deeply unnerving – was to pull the HDMI plug and reinsert it into the back of the Mac mini while the computer was booted. While it was working it was great, but when the HDMI connection failed it involved a risky procedure that could crash the computer and lose unsaved work. The BENFEI USB C to DVI Adapter, Type-C to DVI Adapter [Thunderbolt 3 Compatible] is a commendably good solution. and I haven't had to reboot the configuration once in relation to this connection. It is absolutely stable in use, with precise pixel display – the HDMI connection on reset often left a single pixel magenta stripe down the left hand side and some screen flutter for minutes after a reset of the DVI plug. The only criticism I can make of the Benefit connection is that on waking from an extended sleep, there is a millisecond or so pale graining of the screen, that disappears in that blink. It usually only happens at the start of the day and other moments when the screen is woken this doesn't recur. From my perspective this is a world of improvement. For somebody who comes straight to this set up, this might present some minor measure of disappointment with the Benfei connector. That would be a pity and unjustified in the context of the measure of the problem being resolved. I see this as a means of keeping a beautiful old screen in use long after the departure of its paired workhorse Mac Pro 1.1 from 2006.

Worked a treat
This is a well made, solid adapter. The colouring is one of the most accurate I've seen to the MacBook 'space grey' shell colour as well. The connections are fitted really well and nothing is loose. The only point against that is the right hand screw doesn't screw into the receiving end all the way so it does stick up. This doesn't impact the connection however. It connected up my MacBook Pro 2017 model to my now ancient 20" Cinema Display. It's been great to use it again, but disappointing as over the years the brightness has dimmed and when comparing to the MacBook screen it's pretty much unusable if like me you rely on needing to see accurate colours on the screen. So I just enjoy the nostalgia and use it as a spare screen to shunt windows and panels.

I just got a new M1 Macbook air with Ventura and NOTHING was working to connect my old Apple Cinema Display, which I LOVE and wanted to continue to use. Ventura, it appeared from what I read online, was supposed to be problematic with compatibility with the old cinema displays and so I had no clue what I was even supposed to fix when trying to get it to work... (Turns out Ventura is NOT the problem... the Thunderbolt connection is the problem) The first thing that DIDN'T work was using a DisplayPort to USBC adapter (I forget the brand, but I had no idea Display Port was different than Thunderbolt, they look the same and some Amazon ads even call them Thunderbolt... but they are NOT the same thing, i discovered FINALLY)... So I used the adapter in sequence with my old DVI to Thunderbolt adapter that I used with my old macbook air. It of course did not work... and I didn't know why... When I clued into the difference between Thunderbolt and Display Port I then tried (again, using my existing DVI to thunderbolt adapter) Apple's own Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter (which I bought HERE and will now return because it does not work) . I wasn't keen on having two adapters in sequence but I was basically trying everything I could think of.... BTW, I originally order the Thunderbolt 3 or USBC to Thunderbolt 2 adapter from apple when I ordered the computer along with two other USBC to USB adapters (so I could use all my existing STUFF... printers etc... what a pain)... and the Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter was stolen from the package, delivered by Fedex!!! Nothing in the open envelope, so it took me at least a week longer to find out that it doesn't work because I had to reorder it here. Wasn't taking another chance ordering it from Apple... NEVER USE FEDEX!! Especially if you live in the country... Anyway I JUST got THIS adapter yesterday and frankly was not optimistic... left it all day after trying the Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter which also arrived yesterday... I was told by Apple that it would work and so I tried it first, and since it DIDN'T I, because I had other things to do and didn't want to get distracted trying to trouble shoot again if THIS didn't work (also bought a DVI to HDMI adapter and a hub will try that next)... woke up early today and decided to at least try this DVI to USBC adapter with a clear head and no expectations and IT WORKED!!! I've been working on this for two weeks... I REALLY wish they had not confused Thunderbolt with USB with DisplayPort by making them look the same but not work the same way... it took me WAY to long to figure all that out and even the people at apple are not clear about it... THEY suggested their own really expensive Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 connector and it DID NOT WORK... I FINALLY found the explanation about the differences between all the USBS, Thunderbolts and Mini Cinema Display on their website but it is also really hard to navigate... I couldn't even tell you how to find that page again... HOW many times to I have to log in? so I'm still not sure I could explain it to someone without looking at my notes ) Anyway after HOURS and DAYS of trying different things and troubleshooting, THIS WORKS!!! PS I also bought a USBC hub with USB3 and HDMI ports AND an HDMI to DVI adapter and IT WORKS TOO... Apple also didn't know this... I suppose I should TELL THEM... (Do their job for them.). So I will keep both for different potential configurations...
