No More Accidental Mute Kicks or Drops!
Have you ever been in rehearsal and accidentally kicked a mute or two that was sitting on the floor in front of you? Have you ever played a piece of music that required you to change the mute you are using or add a mute with little to no time to accomplish these tasks? The Hercules mute holder makes these quick mute changes much easier to accomplish and gets the mutes off the floor so that an accidental kick is much harder to do. This heavy duty mute holder attaches to the base of a music stand and holds all types of mutes. Having the mutes up and off the floor really helps musicians avoid accidentally kicking the mutes and makes it much easier to change mutes quickly during a practice or performance. This product is well-designed and works great on Manhasset, Wenger, or Hamilton music stands. I am impressed with this mute holder and enjoy the new-found ease of quick mute changes while using this product. Highly recommended!

Perfect solution for the gigging trumpet player
What it is: Clever trumpet mute holder. I use it for jazz and pit orchestra performances, as it keeps the mutes handy for quick changes. For pit performances, I attach it to my music stand. For jazz performances, I attach it to my vocal mic stand (since my horn mic is a bit farther away). Typical heavy duty Hercules quality--I have a triple trumpet stand (now a quad with the piccolo trumpet stand in the center) and it has held up great. An endless combination of uses: 4 mutes--harmon, straight, cup, pixie/second cup mute (depending on gig) 4 mutes and a small tray of snacks (with the tray inserted) 3 mutes, and a beverage 2 mutes, a beverage, and snacks (combo platter) 1 mute, a beverage, snacks, and a bird. Bird might eat the snacks, so position them strategically. 4 drinks for that really hot or crappy gig 3 drinks and a bird--stay hydrated and entertained during a crappy gig. 2 drinks, a bird, and a ferret. Note: The bird and ferret need to be friends, otherwise, this just won't work. Keeps the trombone players in front on edge and distracted from playing lead trumpet into the back of their skulls. I'd recommend the snack tray for the ferret. Get this, and imagine the possibilities of advanced mute management.

Very useful
My son used one for years. I just purchased a second for a gift. This is a great purchase.

Just what I've been looking for!
This is a well constructed heavy duty mute holder that works best attached to a thick post music stand such as Manhasset. I have not tried it on a folding wire music stand but imagine it should work o.k. though the weight of the mutes might be too much for the slender stalk. It will not attach securely to a music front typically used for big band/jazz groups whether cardboard or fibreboard. And that's where you are most likely going to need the use of multiple mutes. I have a GARD combination case for my trumpet and flugelhorn that has wheels and a telescoping handle like rolling luggage. I set it next to my music front and attach the Hercules mute holder securely to the raised square tubuler handle. Works like a charm! The mute rings are covered with velvet for silent quick mute changes. The different size and length mute rings make it easy to adjust and set it up any way that works best for you. It also saves reaching down to the floor fumbling for the correct mute as they clank and roll around sometimes in the dark. This is a must have for that next gig or symphony pops concert.

Wish I'd had one of these 50 years ago!
I like this a lot! Fifty years ago, most music called for one, maybe two, mutes; at most. Now, it's common to find three or more different mutes called for in the course of one concert performance. This little device keeps everything in sight and accessible, without stooping. No more kicking around mutes on darkened stages, either! I should qualify my remarks by noting I'm a trumpet player and the first thing I did was remove the small tray so that I might use the three larger rings for my straight, cup, and harmon mutes. These rings provide bigger and less noisy targets when making quick mute changes. On most occasions I don't use the long, little ring but it will hold a small plunger mute - upside down - without a problem. That said, if you're a trombone player, you'll have to determine its merits on your own. Finally, the device transports easily. I use a Pro-Tec case, and when I'm off to rehearsals or performances, my K&M 5-leg stand resides in the bell of the horn, and the mute holder, all my mutes, mouthpieces, and lots of other junk fit neatly in the designated storage area. Yes, it ends up weighing some, but it works!

Well made mute holder. Longer arms would be better.
This is a high quality mote holder. My only complaint is that some of the arms are kind of short, so it needs to be positioned lower on the stand so that the mutes are all accessible.

Best out there
If you have multiple mutes this is the way to go. Makes it so much easier than attaching individual mute holders, and it is very sturdy and easy to set up. A bit heavy to add to my mute bag, but definitely worth it! Can't believe I waited this long to get my own!!!
