Would putting quick dry concrete around it increase the lifespan of the capsule?

This should last 200 years as stated in the info about this time capsule.. Not sure covering with concrete would bond without doing damage. I would suggest finding a different avenue if you need something to last more than 200 years.

I did not receive any instructions can something be emailed to me?

I understand. I gave this as a 21st birthday gift and they did not know what it was. Kind of popular in my day. Fill it with parts of your life up till now and what you see uour life in 5.10.15.20 years from now. Put it in a dry bag or box or concrete container and bury it. (where you will remember). Dig it up years from now for fun. Be careful not to do tech. I put an original floppy in mine. Had to go to on line to find someone with the tech. To run something that old.

Would it help or hurt to put some silica gel desiccant packets inside before sealing it?

Would not hurt & could see where it may help also used large P V C. Pipe with caps as in ground case to help protect .

Awesome for a baby shower!!!

I threw my son's girlfriend a baby shower. My son wanted everyone to write letters to the baby of what they would say to her so he could put them in a time capsule. Just in case some of the older family members weren't around later. He planned on giving this time capsule to her when she graduated. He didn't know that we were getting a real time capsule. He was going to use a big kitchen sugar jar with a flip top lid, but I got sneaky and made this a gift at the baby shower. He was very surprised and really liked the time capsule. So. Everyone's letters got put into the time capsule. So, baby girl will get her letters when she is close to 18.

Worth it!!!

This has been one of the funnest things to do with our son. We buried it last week. Our son is still talking about it non stop 😁 We all have full confidence our letters, our favorites lists, a mcdonald's cheese burger & twinkie will be untouched from the earthly environment. The seals felt sufficient and secure. We tightened it as tight as it wld go. I'm excited to open it in 10 years!
