The product has an outside surface similar to sellotape. That is very smooth and waterproof. It is unlikey to take a water based paint such as emulsion but should take an oil based or cellulose based paint. That is domestic gloss paint or car paint. I hope this helps.

only used this tape on plastic roof sheets over a year ago. overlapped it and to this day is still sticking.

Q: Would this be ok for patching up rips on a leather sofa? My dog is heavy handed

This tape is more suited to flat rigid surfaces. Yes, it is flexible but doesn't stretch. Also, it is really a glorified sellotape, so it would look a bit naff. I would go for Leather Adhesive Glue or even better a Leather Repair Kit.

Q: Would this be suitable for expoy resin wood work?

Epoxy will not bond with this tape
