Great Beginner Wheels and Bearings!
Rec skated a lot in high school at my local rink for speed, starting with rental quads then buying in-lines. That was 25+ years ago. Now taking my youngest to the rink and, at least for me, it was NOT like riding a bike. The 58mm x 38mm speed wheels (no listed durometer) that came with the inexpensive Roller Derby speed skates I bought years ago, when I thought that I’d be taking my oldest a bunch, were too ungainly and difficult to turn on for me on the rinks shiny wood floor. I had much better control on the rental in-lines, and so thought that narrower smaller wheels in the 94A to 96A durometer range might help after reading some on-line advice. These, while a skosh softer, totally did the trick! The bearings are fantastic with plenty of spin. In fact, much more than the slightly more expensive Bones Reds in my old wheels — not a great comparison given that they sat in a box on the skates unused for several years after 3 or so sessions, but decent enough. Even with the smaller diameter, these are plenty fast for my current level. A bit stickier than I think I’d like, but they’re only 92A and I’ve read that user weight can affect how soft a wheel feels in practice — I’m 6’4” and 200 lbs. I want to learn to Rhythm Skate a bit, and with one bum knee I feel like a beginner with a capital B. But these wheels allowed me to weave in between and around slower skaters with control in a smallish rink that was pretty packed with mostly beginner kids slipping and falling all over the place. They also had just enough give to slide slightly when I tried to awkwardly “groove” side to side on the straight aways, but were locked in on every turn. I’ll definitely replace them with a higher durometer wheel when I hopefully get better, but then these will likely make good outdoor practice wheels if they’re not worn down too much. If you’re on the fence about these wheels, or are a beginner and want narrower or smaller wheels than you currently have that will work indoors, and maybe outdoors, get this package! The bearings won’t be too slow, and you can always tighten the axle lock nuts slightly if they’re too fast. At $35 for a set of 8 wheels, you won’t find a better beginner option. And the bearing are a steal for an extra $15. By the time I’m good enough to really want more slide, I’ll probably be looking at at higher durometer wheels than the other more expensive beginner indoor wheels. Skip the other $40 to $50 for 94A to 96A wheels and use the savings to get 98A or higher wheels when you’re ready. Personally, I already have my eyes on a set of 103A 58mm x 30mm Bones wheels, or even a set of Sure-Grip wood wheels, to give myself a goal to obtain. Even after only one session, these Rollerex 92A 54mm x 32mm have me believing that I can get there — even with my bum knee!

Roller skate wheels
These wheels are great. My grandson loves them. He love to do tricks on the rink floor and finds these wheels as very responsive.

Use Different Bearings
These wheels are very good. They’ve lasted me 6 months and I’ve skated with them aggressively every week. I have also extended the life of my wheels by rotating them every 10 hours of use. The bearings that come with the wheels are no good, I recommend Roller Bones roller skate bearings to use with these wheels.

Fantastic wheels
Huge improvement over the stock wheels on my quad skates. Excellent traction, however easily slides when needed. Smooth rolling.

My favorite.
Have bought two pairs now. Will keep getting these. They are hard, small, and fast, but also good for dance/JB. Use Redz Bones brand bearings.

They were clearly used
Dirty and gross. They were clearly used before. I’m angry.

Nice wheels
These are really nice and smooth, also my skates feel lighter! I’ve been rolling around my house, but I can’t wait to use these in the rink.
