Quechua Cusqueño, Year One: Third Edition Review: Excellent language course - The grammar is thoroughly explained, with plenty of vocabulary and lots of exercises to improve the learner’s proficiency. The material is presented so as to make the learning process enjoyable. There are interesting references to Quechua culture, and the language itself provides insight into the Quechua world view. The availability of audio material online is a big help in learning the language. An excellent course. Review: Wow! I love it!! - Wow, what an amazing resource on Quechua! It's extremely well organized and complete and one of the few resources available in English, though I'd love to have a Spanish copy too. Looking forward to learning independently with it and hope to participate in some of the NYC events.

Quechua is a logical and intuitive language, bearing several high-level similarities to Turkish, e.g. SOV word order, agglutinative morphology (suffix chains), coding of evidentiality and double-marking in possessive noun phrases. This is a well-crafted course, clearly grounded in practical teaching experience. Each chapter introduces about 12-15 new words, two or three grammar points (mostly suffixes) and 60-80 exercises which are very effective in building confidence. For this volume only (there are three!), there is a supporting video on YouTube to strengthen aural comprehension. Three volumes must mean quite a mountain of suffixes but the gradual drip-feeding means that the challenge is not insuperable.

Presents the sequence the way we learn as children, ever increasing complexity in every day talking. Opposite of the all - too - many word list sources, this one helps me know how to construct a sentence to say what I want. Exercises are helpful with answers in the back.
