Sleek design, easy install and large wifi coverage
We have a small back yard that had poor/inconsistent wifi reception areas . My husband likes to work on his computer outside during the summer months so I wanted to extend our outdoor wifi connectivity. This extender enhanced wifi capability and stability in our back hard. I am even able to walk quite a distance from our home while staying connected to our wifi. Game changer!

inexpensive but with good software features and good coverage
I purchased one of these to increase coverage of my front yard area. Having Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) is very convenient when you have to run wires through the attic and out under the eaves of the house to get to the preferred location! The coverage seems good and the software allows me to see what devices are connected to it (some other AP devices don't have this).I later purchased another one for my backyard (about 1/2 acre). It works well for most of the yard, but we do have so many trees that the signal gets a little weak in the far backyard area. Mostly, it works great! (This 2nd unit is connected to a Ethernet-over-Powerlines (EoP) adapter, in order to ge the signal to the AP device and still have it be "hardwired" to the central switch. That works well and hasn't given us any problems.

Definitely Long Distance Extender
Excellent long distance wifi extender, working very well with blink cameras in the woods as deer 🦌 cams. Mighty fine. God bless

Instructions were frustrating, but figured it out. Covers well beyond my two acres.
I needed something to extend the range of my home network for outdoor security cameras covering my 2+ acre property, and this fit the bill. However, trying to get it set up was frustrating, especially since I didn’t understand half the stuff in the instructions, and the app kept telling me to login (and wouldn’t let me even after I set up an account. I came very close to returning it - and even started the process - when I decided to give it one more try. As it turned out, I didn’t realize I needed to swipe left on my phone to get to the standalone mode page, which doesn’t require a login! From there, it was all intuitive…enter the home network. password, set passwords for the two new networks, and we were up and running. It’s now mounted about 15’ high on a light pole, and coverage tends well past the perimeter of my property. There are a few weak spots in coverage, but the barn and garage have metal roofs, and one of the cameras is partially blocked by the roof of the house.

Great support!
Reliable Performance and Great Support! Installed multiple TP-Link EAP610 and EAP225 units across our restaurant property and the coverage has been fantastic—especially in tougher spots like the kitchen and storeroom. The setup guides provided (for ceiling, wall, and outdoor mounting) were clear and extremely practical. Special thanks to Sloane for the quick and thoughtful follow-up—that level of support makes all the difference. Highly recommend TP-Link for any mesh network deployment!

Easy and Powerful
This was easy to set up with power over Ethernet and it provided a strong network connection to my EVs, security cameras, outdoor lighting and charging station. I'd recommend the whole TPLink Ecosystem.

ZERO STARS. Deceptive advertising. Not a true mesh access point, Not stating what else is needed.
I bought this because of two issues I am having: 1) My robotic lawnmower looses wifi connection when it is in the far back of my yard, around 300 yards. 2) The security cameras on my workshop looses wifi connection at times, rendering the cameras useless. I tried placing a true mesh router in the workshop. It connect to the mesh network when standing outside, not inside. The problem here is, with the radiant barriers on the building. The siding has a radiant barrier backing, The insulation has a radiant barrier and the interior finished walls have a radiant barrier backing. Basically it has three thin sheets of metal (aluminum foil like) surrounding the entire building. This is to help keep the shop cool in the hot Florida summers. It also stops any type of radio sign from getting in. Please don't say, stick iy in a window. I had the shop built without windows for two reasons, 1) Security 2) Keep the heat out.So I bought this outdoor access point to be mounted above the building. Here is where the issues come in.1) Not a mesh network. This is just a repeater, IF you can get it connected to your wifi network (I could not).a) I could not get it to connected my mesh wifi network.b) Could not get it to connected to the ISP wifiWould only work when connected to a router via an ethernet cable2) No wifi 63) No where in the description does it tell the buyer they need to purchase two ethernet cables.a) A cable to go from the power block to the access point. (This one should have been included)b) A cable to go between the power block and all the way back to your home router.3b defeats the purpose of having a mesh system. I did not want to run a ethernet cable over 200 yards from the house to my work shop. If I was going to do that, I could go with a much more inexpensive option. Just needing a router with an exterior wifi antenna.I wish there was an option for zero (0) stars, here why:1) Not a mesh router/access point. It is a repeater. It might be able to use the same network SID. A true mesh access point does not needing to be hardwired back your mesh hub. I have a mesh network in my home. Only the unit designated as the hub needs to be connected to the internet provider's router. All the other access points use wifi 6 to connect to each other. No ethernet wiring back to the hub needed.2) No wifi 6 as stated only 2.4 & 5. I wanted to use the wifi 6 as the backbone as I have with my other mesh networks.3) Not telling buyers they need to have or buy an ethernet cable long enough to go between their home router and the power block for this access point.4) Not including at least one ethernet cable. The one going between the power block and the access point. Also, this cannot be standard ethernet cable since it will be outside, exposedin to the weather. The Florida summer will dry out, the outer plastic coating in one season. This ethernet cable will need to be weather proof with UV protection.

Wifi outside now
Tried a wifi extender fist to get wifi in the backyard for my security cameras but it didn't work. Set this up as an access point AP and it has worked perfectly with wifi throughout the back yard. Watched a video to help with setup but it was pretty straight forward. Much easier to setup than a ubiquiti AP I had used in the past.
