IT WORKS!!! You need to move the RFID rod from the key fob to the new key.
My key lock cylinder went bad. Got this one installed by using youtube videos. I moved my RFID rod over from the key fob (watched a video on that too). Only my rod was held in place by epoxy or something, not Silicone. I had to use a head gun to loosen it. But once switched over to the key and fully installed the lock and put the car back together; it started up just fine. Dealer quoted me at 220 for lock and 180 for a key plus two weeks to get it back. I'll probably do that when I have the cash but this product got me up in running quick!

Keys Get Stuck
Keys will NOT fully insert into lock cylinder without issue. I shouldn't have to jiggle the keys to get them to fully insert into the cylinder. This cylinder was worse than the 15 some odd year old cylinder I was replacing. Very POOR quality control.

Must transfer immobilizer sensor from original lock to work.
Jetta mk6. Key would stick. Physical lock barrel is good on this one. The car would not start until I transferred the sensor for the immobilizer from the original lock to this one. This lock has pins that suggest it does have an immobilizer sensor, but... it didn't work for me. There is some work & some risk in doing this. However if the alternative is buying a new one from the dealer... might as well give it a go. Transferring the sensor worked for me.
