High Quality and Effective for Training
The Herm Sprenger Ultra-Plus Prong Collar is very well made. Solid stainless steel links and a smooth finish. My dog responds quickly when using it correctly, and it’s much more comfortable for him than older, cheaper prong collars. Fit is adjustable and easy to size, and the links move smoothly without pinching. I use it responsibly as a training tool, not punishment, and it’s helped improve leash manners significantly. Overall, a premium prong collar that works well when used correctly and responsibly.

The original is the only way to go
quality product from the original designer. This functions exactly as it should and the sizing is spot on and doesn't need adjusting. I changed out our regular training collar for this one and the difference was immediately noticable and my pooch's training was much more effective. She doesn't seem to be uncomfortable with it on, just more attentive to corrections.

Perfect for my Doberman
This collar fits my Doberman really well and feels very sturdy and well made. It sits nicely on his neck and doesn’t move around. When used properly, it helps a lot with communication during walks and training, and he responds much better compared to a regular collar. The links are smooth, easy to adjust, and overall it just feels like a high-quality product. Very happy with it and how well it works for my dog.

Great for training.
Purchased for my service dog training, its perfect. Works well, can remove links for the perfect size. He knows this collar means we will be working soon. Highly recommend if you understand how to correctly use a prong collar.

It’s a game changer, like power steering for your dog!!
It’s a game changer, like power steering for your dog!! We got a German Shepard at 12 weeks, who’s now 6 months old. Up until last week he was completely leash trained, the first week we had him he would lay down sometimes or randomly pull but he stopped that after a week of being with us. We could take him anywhere and he wasn’t reactive to people or other dogs, he just walked and didn’t care, he’d sometimes stop and sniff. If we used a collar he would get wild but with his tactical harness he was extremely obedient on walks. Two weeks ago he hit 6 months(neutered) and he suddenly just got wild on walks even with his harness. He’s 55 pounds and he has a lot of power behind him and he started constantly pulling full force, would no longer heel and would randomly lay down and not get back up. If you stopped to try and make him sit he’d keep pulling. This all started on a trail in the woods. A mile in and he went wild pulling full force. We eventually turned around and he pulled full force the entire trip back to the car he ended up hurting the muscles in my back, shoulder and neck(disabled vet with spinal issues). The next day we took him for another walk around our neighborhood and the same thing happened, pulling full force. Today I tried to walk him in the backyard and it didn’t work, just pulling full force. I’d known about these collars since I was a kid and my parents had used them on our dogs growing up but I thought the collars were cruel and for lazy people lol. I looked online on how to fix this new walking problem we had and people kept recommending these Herm Sprenger prong collars. I was extremely reluctant but decided to watch a bunch of videos and it was amazing how much the dogs would change their walking behavior by simply switching to this collar. I decided to get one, it showed up the same day(today) at 10pm. I removed a few links to make it fit properly and took him for a walk, it was amazing. He had originally been a good walker before getting out of control but with this collar even his old “good walking” wasn’t this good. It’s now like he has power steering and brakes lol. I stop he stops, I walk he walks right next to me. I give a gentle pull and he sits. No random sniffing or momentarily forgetting we’re on a walk. This collar is so simple yet amazing. Now that I know it works I’m waiting for him to grow then I’m getting the larger size in black stainless steel.

Gets control back quick
This is great quality. I gave to my mom for her small mix breed that thinks he is I. Charge. This worked so well that with I days he was straightened out. It fit well and was easy to get in and off. I sat comfortable and softly around his neck until he pulled. It quickly got back in check to walk correctly on leash. It is easy to get off and back on.

This collar is LIFE CHANGING!!
Hella long review but walk with me, haha. 🐶 I have hypermobile EDS and my joints ache severely every time after taking my dogs out or for a walk. We have a Border Collie mix and a Husky, they both pull but the Husky pulls to the point where I straight up can’t deal with him on the leash. We tried everything: treats, clickers, shorter leashes, and gentle leaders. The gentle leader worked until the Husky figured out he could just turn around and pull, which made going out a long process full of constant corrections and redirection. My boyfriend had graciously started solely taking them out so I’m not in pain, but I didn’t want to put that all on him or miss out on my babies having fun outside. I figured we had exhausted all options and this was just how life would be with our dogs, but after the Husky slipped out of his gentle leader on Halloween and made a run for it dressed up as a hot dog, I knew I needed to figured something out fast! After hours of searching and comparing, I decided to give this collar a try and when it showed up, my boyfriend thought I bought a torture device and honestly I was a little worried about it too. I took them out just ONE TIME to go potty, and it was MAGICAL!! Our Husky boy STOPPED PULLING!!! Even after getting the collar on him, he didn’t fuss around! The sizing chart and directions are very accurate: we measured his neck at 18” and added 2”. The 20” collar was perfect fit right out of the package, but can be easily adjusted by removing or adding links. The prongs on the links can be a little tricky at first, but get easier with use. As long as you have a little grip strength, it’s not that difficult to pop off/on. Other reviewers said to get the additional quick release thing, which I agree would be better in the long run if you have issues with hand strength, joint pain, or mobility. The chain, rings, and links feel very durable and there is no smell. I like that it’s just metal, so much easier to keep clean! I took them for a walk the next day and he did so good on the leash, no pulling or choking himself and no coughing!! 😭 I felt like it made him more aware of commands, he looked happy and confident for the first time! I was so impressed by this collar’s ability to distribute the pressure of him pulling without harming him that I returned the martingale collar we got for our other dog because she was coughing from pulling on the leash during our walk and buying her this one instead!!

Life-changer...right when I was about to break the bank
I am not sure that I have ever written a review for a product. If I have...I am not sure when the last time I did was. I was feeling pretty confident about my dog training skills. Between gentle-leaders and no-pull harnesses, consistency, and positive reinforcement, I have trained 5 previous dogs to walk calmly on a leash. Four of those dogs were all at once. "look at me and my skills!" I thought....walking all four of these lab-mixes all at once. For years. Calmly. And then... Bodhi (an 8 month old 65 lb golden retreiever/husky mix) came into my life and humbled me almost right onto my toosh onto a road with traffic. Because a dog was across the street with a bell on his collar and the excitement was just too much! First I used a no-pull harness. Then a gentle leader. Then a trainer I worked with in an obedience class recommended a martingale. It was useless. The gentle leader I used was the most effective, and that was still minimal and I felt like I was hurting him during corrections. We walk twice a day and I dreaded it. I thought I was a calm, cool dog owner. I fet like I was turning into a crazy person alternating between corrections and positive reinforcement on our walks. Although, my 14-year-old lab mix was loving all training treats she was getting alongside every attempt I made to reward Bodhi for positive behavior. I was convinced for months I was doing something wrong and feeling guilty and more defeated with every youtube video I watched about just needing to figure out better communication with my dog. I was on the verge of breaking the bank and sending him away to a 2-week board-and-train program. I heard prong collars were inhumane, but when I got desperate, I started to research them. In just ONE DAY, the results were immediate. And boy wagged his tail throughout the whole walk and just looked up at me when we saw another dog and gladly took treats instead of pulling. I watched multiple youtube videos about using this correctly before trialing it and introduced him to it in the backyard first. It feels sooooo much more humane than constant corrections and stopping and changing directions throughout our walks. It was calm and easy and I felt like ME again. The corrections were drastically less and we all were happy and calm throughout our walk. SO HAPPY I TRIED THIS. Nothing inhumane about it. And good learning for me about recognizing different methods for different dogs. We look forward to many calm, long walks in our future!
