I am using this to cool and converted 20ftx20ft carport. The walls have compressed insulation and are only 2" thick. The shop has a tall ceiling that is 13 foot at the tallest point, so it is almost like this 10,000 BTU cooler has to cool two rooms that are poorly insulated. . . . and it still gets the job done! Hot 95 deg days in full sunlight and this Window air conditioner does the job keeping me cool and comfortable in my radio shack/workshop. It is much quieter than the old Whirlpool cooler I had in there which is nice because when I am transmitting on the radio I need the ambient background noise as quiet as possible. I know it is a window cooler, but I dropped it in the sleeve where the old Whirlpool wall unit used to be and filled in the gaps with PE foam insulator. Works great. It's been running about a month now and hope its lasts for a long time. For comparison, I have an old 8000 BTU GE window unit that is still going strong after over 15 years, and I also had the Whirlpool 14000 BTU unit that only lasted two years for some reason. Hopefully LG will come through for me like the GE unit did.

Live in South LA, it’s been hot as hell over the past few months. Originally I had a midea ac that used to belong to my brother, which sucked and gave out on me a while back. After reviewing this model on Best Buy, Home Depot, and Amazon, I decided to invest in this model. It has by far been the best investment I made. I love this AC. I have it on energy saving mode and it freezes my room. It is quite heavy, but once installed, it’s a dream. It’s so quiet, the air quality feels amazing. There’s no leakage. I love everything about this AC. Even connecting it to my phone was super easy. Don’t hesitate buying it!

Would be 5 stars if the fan speed changed automatically. Still a great unit though !!! I pulled two older 8,000 BTU units and put two of these 10,000 BTU in their places. The older 8,000 units weren't big enough. These new 10,000 BTU units work much better, are cheaper to operate and are much quieter. The app works perfectly also. It's nice to be able to control them both at the same time or individually with my cellphone and see the room temperature.

Working great so far! I was worried this wouldn't fit in my window which is only 20.25" wide, but I took a risk and ordered it anyway. Turns out, it fits! You just can't use the expandable side panels if the windows is under 22" inches. The AC unit itself is 19.5" wide, so if you have a narrow window like myself, you just have to seal the gaps on the sides your own way. The unit is very quiet, even on high, inside the house. Outside, the unit is quite a bit noisier, but still not too bad. I can't compare to other units, but this AC unit is doing an excellent job so far. I'm cooling a larger space than it's designed, but it's keeping up just fine.

After doing a lot of research, I ordered a window air conditioner that seems to me a perfect option although the most expensive of the units I reviewed. I choose this brand and model because it fit my needs, had excellent customer reviews and because the new dual inverter technology found in the description. I ordered the LG Dual Inverter Air Conditioner (Model LW1022IVSM) for a 450 sq ft room, expecting a brand new unit in excellent condition. What I received was deeply disappointing and has left me frustrated and upset. A Quality Control department would have caught this. I have multiple LG products in my home and have always been satisfied with their products, until now. When the box arrived, I noticed some external damage (compressed areas and tears in the cardboard), signs of poor handling during transport; yet, not a big deal. I still opened it with hope, assuming the internal protection would keep the unit safe. To my surprise, the areas where the box showed damage actually revealed an AC unit in good condition. However, the real issue was in the areas where the box appeared completely intact: the unit itself was visibly damaged. Multiple torn sections and a larger compressed section (the size of a credit card) in the condenser coils, clearly not something that would come from manufacturing. The motor also makes a very audible, loud clicking noise on any fan speed or mode of use. The motor sounds taxed and obviously not working as it should. Chipped painted on the front, top portion of the metal casing, indicating it likely took a hit. Some scratches and adhesive were on the bottom of the unit, consistent with signs of prior installation and handling. The evidence I saw strongly suggests that this air conditioner was a used unit that was returned, repackaged and shipped to me as if it were new. I paid the full $449 list price, which I rarely do; yet, the 4.4 rating spurred me to make the purchase. I usually never write reviews; however, this is just completely unacceptable. This experience has disrupted my weekend plans, forced me to set aside time I didn’t have to deal with a return, and delayed an important installation. It’s not just about the damage, it is about the sense of being misled. I didn’t receive what I paid for, and that is incredibly disappointing. I am returning the unit, not only because it doesn’t function as advertised, but because I expect honesty and quality from a well-known manufacturer and a purchase marked as "new." I sincerely hope Amazon and the seller take steps to ensure this doesn't happen to others. No one should have to go through the hassle of a return because someone thought they wouldn’t notice the difference.

It’s amazing, quietest from all I have ever purchased in the past. It feels as if it sucks out the heat from the room and leaves the coolness even after turning it off. Pricing is quite competitive with others that don’t match in how great it works. Airflow starts off slow due to the energy saving function for your light bill but once it’s cooled, the flow feels great. It is quite big in size and heavy, place in a spot that no one will crash into.
