My plastic hozelock connector was rubbish. My water pressure is high, and the tap couldn't be left open because this connector would just pop off and let the water run (I'm on a meter so my bill would be horrendous) Ordered this metal one and it works perfectly. The support at the bottom helps with the water pressure warping the hose, and the fitting keeps the hose on. Also used on a pressure washer and still no leaking! Worth the money

Really good metal connector for Hozelock items. I have used this for my new metal spray gun. It seems stronger and better quality than the plastic ones. I will update after a few months of use. Working really good and no leaks from this connector, but does not fit onto the Mirical gro feeder that I have just bought, the water runs out as there is no seal. When I changed to my plastic Hozelock end the feeder was fine. I think that if you are using Hozelock metal parts then they are best to be used only with others from the same range. Not a problem for me but a missed opportunity for Hozelock and anyone who needs to use with other appliances. Sorry have to take one star off for that.

I bought this heavy-duty version of the standard all-plastic Hozelock connector having had a lot of trouble with the previous two plastic ones (thouigh none ever before): the connector kept falling off the hose when the water was left on. I checked I had the correct diameter hose and connector and the hose end was trimmed neatly and in good condition and well seated within the connector each time so I cannot explain why it failed several times per day, using two consecutive plastic Hozelock connectors. However, this part-metal version has proved very reliable over two months of summer use. I was only used to attach to a hand-held nozzle for watering. I used this at various pressures, including pumping at maxumum water pressure (from zero, as it were) and the sudden burst never made the connection fail. The extended sleeve prevents a kink in the hose close to the connection which, in my experience, was a major cause of the connector becoming detached. NB: The connecting 'teeth' are still plastic but despite my fears on discovering this, I have had no problems. The connector feels more weighty and stronger to handle than the plastic one. From my two months of use I would highly recommend it. It will be interesting to see how it survives the winter's freezing and thawing.

Old one was plastic this new metal design seems a good edition, fits well with no leaks.

Far sturdier than the plastic versions and in my experience last years in all weathers and leak a lot less due to the metal body which I guess expands less and weathers less. I repeatedly have to mount/de-mount shut of attachments and hose reels and they seem to last. Occasionally I've had one become a little sticky to operate the release movement but a little bit of silicon spray or similar sorts it...it costs more but lasts and doesn't leak.

This was my first purchase from internet on AUG-2011. I am writing my review on this product after 20 month. it is working well and no problem once I fitted it to my garden pipe which is out side lying in Indian 46 degree temperature in summer and 12 degree in winter but there is no effect on material or in function of it.when I remove my Hozelock Multi spray Gun from the connector it is not leaking single drop of water from it. water stop system is working perfectly even from 20 months of outside operation. this is the only brand to believe on good and write functioned. it is good for Indian open to out side sky operation if you leave it in open to sky for 24hours.

This should be a good quality stopper for garden hose but I am already suspicious of how long it will last as the thread stripped on installing it on the hose. It may have some metal parts but most of it is plastic. Its not worth the hassle at sending back for a replacement so time will tell if it lasts or not.

Any of the pain points are still plastic and have broken in the same way as the much cheaper versions. No point spending any more money on this.

Hatte bisher Schlauchstücke eines Marktführers aus Billigplastik. Die konnte man schon nach 1 - 2 Jahren entsorgen. Außerdem: Einmal drauftreten, wegschmeißen. Dieses Stück aus Metall mit Knickschutz ist anscheinend unkaputtbar. Auch bei über 5 bar Schlauchdruck ist ein Tausch der Anschlussgeräte problemlos. Nicht billig, aber sein Geld wert!

I never liked hose connectors but had to replace a damaged one on a 15 year old Hozelock retractable hose. It locks solidly and attachments can be removed and replaced with no leaks. What a great product!

Ich mag diese Schaucharmaturen. Ich denke, ich habe hier nun endlich das gefunden, was ich schon lange wollte. Ich habe mich jahrelang, wie sicherlich viele, mit den Produkten des Markführers rumgeärgert, ständig neue O-Ringe montiert, und das versprödete orange Plastik hat dennoch den Teilen schnell ein Ableben beschert. Dann habe ich auf Messing umgestellt, und mußte feststellen dass diese Armaturen zwar sehr haltbar, aber mit nassen Händen immer schwerer zu bedienen waren. Ganz übel waren die Verbindungsteile zwischen den Kupplungen; man sieht sie kaum, und mein Rasenmäher mag sie gar nicht. Diese Serie bietet mir (bisher!) ein Optimum. Das Handling ist präzise und einfach, die Stabilät ist hervorragend. Eines dieser Teile hat neulich eine Drüberfahrt mit einem PKW überstanden. Die Verbindungstücke sind gelb ... und sogar die O-Ringe halten offenbar länger. Mal sehen ob das so bleibt. Dieser Wasserstop ist keine Ausnahme. Funktioniert einwandfrei und bietet alle Vorteile der Serie. Über den Preis mag man geteilter Meinung sein, mir sind die Vorteile den Preis wert. Nachtrag 11/2015: Das Teil ist, wie alle aus dieser Serie, nach wie vor im Einsatz und hat sich ohne "wenn und aber" bewährt. Ich kann das wirklich empfehlen.
