Quite an interesting read. Very nicely written and with a text which (in my opinion) conveys quite a feminist or female perspective of the subject throughout, but this is natural enough I suppose, given that the book is written by a woman. The book, however, is a little smaller than I thought it was going to be, and some of the illustrations in it are rather small.

Wow! What a beautiful book. Big and full of paintings I recognised and many more of gems that I have never seen. Not being an expert in this subject I wanted to learn more and if you don't know your Manet from your Monet and want to this is a great place to start. Also includes great female painters like Mary Cassatt, Woman with a pearl necklace is stunning ! Just wish i had found this book sooner, I hesitated because of price but well worth money if you want to know more about impressionism or if you just like nice things.

The best Impressionist book I have found - although at the marked price in the book it was far too expensive - Amazon price OK.

Arrived safely, and on time, and was exactly as described. Very good purchase with excellent images and good narrative text.

The purpose to invest in this book was to understand the society. This is what fascinates me abou5 Impressionism - all Masrees have made it possible to come close to the era. I m glad to have it.
