Wowee! I was looking for some oversized jars (or smallish containers) in which to keep the dry cat food. The large package of Taste of the Wild comes in 14-pound packages so I hoped that two of these jars would work in relocating the entire bag's contents. Alas, not quite. I will need one or two more of these gallon jars but I will happily get more of these. What impressed me about this are several things: (1) they are safe for human food so I can count on high quality; (2) they are thick glass with an airtight plastic screw-on lid that won't rust over time; (3) they are not too heavy even when filled (though I guess that depends on what you fill them with; (4) they have a wide mouth so they are easy to filll; and (5) they are made in the U.S. In short, this is an outstanding product and I am pleased that it will hold the cat food in an easy-to-see-and-find package. Highly recommended.

I use these for houseplants. I always drown them or desiccate them if I try regular pots, but these are perfect. There's enough room in there for a ton of dirt and you can see at a glance whether you should add water or not. Plus, if you only fill half or so with dirt, the soil is protected from evaporation so the water lasts a really long time. Since it's a pretty, classic, simple container, I think it's super cute to add a tasteful decoration in with my plants too. I'm a freak so each of my jars gets an animal skull, but the clear glass means you can sincerely appreciate whatever kind of small garden decoration you add.

I read the other reviews before purchasing these jars, but took the gamble to order since I knew I could return them if necessary. They were well packaged, none were broken, and the lids were all there. I can understand why some folks weren't real happy with the lids, but they definitely work and are functional. I'd purchase again if I need more.

I actually use this product to hold the gallons of reverse osmosis water that I buy at Whole Foods Markets. The water costs 39 cents a gallon and, while it is not spring water, it has a fresh taste and is without any of the impurities and chemicals that are in my regular sink water. I always keep two bottles of water on hand and use it for coffee, tea, soups, cooking pasta, cooking cereals … anything I cook which absorbs the water it's cooking in will be cooked in the purified water that I store in these jars. Since it is advised to clean the jars before filling them each time with water sold at the Whole Foods Markets, the very wide necks on these jars make cleaning them possible. I am very satisfied with these jars and applaud their sturdiness, light weight, size, design, quality of glass and the cushioned plastic lid. I will buy additional bottles so that I can easily keep 3-4 gallons of purified water on hand.

3 were great one has a chip on the lid from shipping. For what I’m using it for now a little tape will be fine but wished it didn’t have a broken lid. But overall pleased with product.

These jars are perfect for brewing fermented kombucha tea. I have to say that I was worried that the jars might arrive broken as they are glass and delivery services are not the most careful considering all the packages they have to deliver especially around this time of year. They arrived in perfect condition as they were very well packaged to insure arrival to their destination in one piece. Thank goodness. I didn't want to have to deal with broken glass jars and reordering, etc. As a result, I could get down to the task at hand and prepare my kombucha tea as soon as I received them. At this time of year, I make fermented kombucha tea as a present for those family members who do not have the time to make their own. I do have a proprietary method of making kombucha right in the jar; so I wanted to make sure that these jars were tempered as I brew the tea directly in the jar using boiling water. I placed the jar in the sink as a precaution and poured the hot boiling water in the jar which had the loose tea and sugar already in it. I was being cautious in the event that the jar cracked and the liquid came gushing out. I didn't want a mess to clean up. These jars were described as MASON jars; therefore, they should have tempered glass. So I have tested them out and can attest that they are, in fact, mason jars that have tempered glass. I was very happy with their performance and I am sure that the recipients of my kombucha gifts will be delighted as they can reuse the jar for storage. Another benefit is that they have an airtight foam-lined plastic lid that will be beneficial in preventing leakage of the tea when in transit. They performed better than I had expected for the use I intended them for and the price was very good and was also competitive. These jars arrived very quickly, were in excellent condition, and looked better than I had expected them to look; so, overall I was very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this seller as a source for your kombucha and storage needs.

Además, siempre me llegan muy rápido, a los dos días o así. Los utilizo para hacer kombuchas, encurtidos y fermentados varios. La primera vez compré para probar, a ver qué tal eran, y he acabado tan contento con estos frascos gigantes que ya llevo 6. Tienen muy buen tamaño, materiales de gran calidad. Cristal resistente y las tapas de rosca son estupendas (pensé que eran de plástico, como parece por la fotografía, pero son metálicas con un recubrimiento espacial). Posiblemente acabe comprando más en el futuro.
