Good stuff- but I need to use it over a few months to really know if it's good for my hair

I am generally really bad about writing reviews but I felt obligated this time as I know how many of us women out there struggle with overprocessed hair. So I must say, this is one of the best products I have come across to battle split ends. I dye my hair regularly; every 6 to 8 weeks (Red fades very quickly) and I also live in a very dry climates so my split ends have been atrocious lately. I found the instructions and the whole three step process in general to be very easy and it did not take me as long as I expected. I started with step one: shampooing with the Shampoo for Damaged Hair. It smells great and my hair felt great afterwards. Warning: this product does contain silicones so if you're trying to stay away from that, please consider. I normally co-wash my hair so I definitely had to take this into consideration. Step two: Two-Step Protein treatment (This is the messy part). Saturate your hair with the protein. It also doesn't smell great...but it's tolerable. It's very sticky but you need to make sure your entire head and hair is completely saturated. I found using a hair dye applicator works better than pouring right out of the bottle. Then you dry it. The directions recommend a salon style seated hair dryer but I used my handheld dryer with diffuser and it works just fine, just follow the instructions to not agitate the hair during the drying process. My particular hair did not take as long as I thought to dry but I'm sure it depends on your length and thickness. Step three: rinse and condition. The moisturizing conditioner smells great! My hair came out so soft and silky I couldn't stop touching it. I didn't think about taking a before picture but just for reference I can never wear my hair natural (wavy) because it is normally so frizzy as I blow dry and flat iron my hair every day because my hair is so unhealthy. This treatment allowed me to dry with a defuser and wear it natural for the first time in years!!

You ever find yourself up at 1:00 am watching youtube videos on how people damaged their hair and what they did to fix it? Ya I don't either but that how I found myself buying this product. My hair is very damaged from bleaching it every 6 weeks and that horrible thing called menopause. Its brittle, coarse, unmanageable rats nest. It really is bad. I buy Olaplex by the gallon (bet you didn't know you could do that) and use it once a week. But between all the processing, pool and sun my hair just had it. I even contemplated cutting it as its so difficult to care for. So when I came home from work and found Aphogee sitting at my door steps I was willing to try another product. First of lets start with the shampoo, it has the pretty color of 80s shampoo (yes I'm that old) with its pleasant pink hue and varnish like smell. Immediately after I washed my hair I got nervous, it felt like I stripped everything healthy from my hair, it was very difficult to comb through, with very strong chemical smell. I towel dried it and applied the protein treatment which has texture of water, color of old tea and smell of bug spray. First off the product is difficult to apply due to its watered consistency. I managed to get enough on my hair, comb it with wide toothed comb and left it to dry. BIG mistake! the product ran off my scalp into every nook and cranny on my face and in my eyes. I decided to follow instructions and used hair drayer to dry the product. My hair looked like it did back in 80's it had this lovely sheen of Aquanet and the same texture. It was basically glued to my head. My vanity looked like a bunch of 5 year olds had water gun fight with sugar water and everything it touched was sticky. I rinsed off the treatment off my hair and used my normal shampoo which I followed with the conditioning treatment from Aphogee. My hair felt instantly better. I let it air dry and styled it in morning as normal. i noticed softness and flexibility to my hair I haven't seen in years. By all means my hair still shows some signs of damaged but overall its shiny, manageable and soft. So if you are like me and found yourself here after years of abuse to your hair, trust me, this product is amazing and will drastically improve the quality of your hair. My only suggestion is when applying product is to sit in a bathtub to contain the mess.

So I had to write this review. i took a Chance on this after reading some reviews. I had gotten my hair highlighted being told the integrity of my hair would not be ruined very much. That was a lie and after the highlights my hair got progressively worse over the next 6 weeks. Went to a new hairdresser who told me she could fix my hair with a product called olaplex and again did my highlights. I knew right when she was washing and cutting after the treatment that my hair integrity was the same if not a bit worse. So after that I was dealing with the frizzy mess of damaged, dry, splitting hair in one of the pics. I tried cholesterol cream. I tried cut out blow drying and straightening, I washed my hair only every other day and used shampoo only on the roots and conditioner of course. I used deep conditioning treatments (which left my hair softer but still very damaged). I used oil treatments and etc. I kept looking up solutions until I finally stumbled on my hair symptoms and what needed to be done, protein regeneration. So after looking and comparing and everything online I settled with trying this. Honestly I was excited but knew if it didn't work I would just have to try more things. Now, my hair has not been rendered perfect or anything there is still probably one more time for me to due this treatment to finish helping it. But I knew right away even while washing that my hair felt smoother, stronger, and the picture speaks for itself. Both pictures are of just washed air dried hair with no product or oil of any sort. There is a huge huge difference between the two. Enough so that I had to write this. I am way more impressed by this treatment than the money I spent in the salon getting the olaplex treatment that fell flat and did nothing like this. Try this out! It made all the difference to me-I was at a point where I was even starting to contemplate cutting it all off. Not anymore!

My hair dresser swears by this stuff! It did exponentially help my hair after multiple colors and bleaches, but the smell of the two step treatment is terrible! The bundle is a great deal that includes the two step treatment, a shampoo and a conditioner. I guess the cost of beauty or should I say the smell of beauty is worth it sometimes.

I thought most of the reviews were over exaggerating, but it really does work! I tried SO many different techniques/products from homemade hair masks/oils to other shampoos/conditioners. Nothing seemed to work much to make a big difference. Story: My hair was bleached to where half my hair got fried off (hair dresser didn't realize she had it on for more than 2 hrs under the heater-I didn't know anything about bleaching so I entrusted her). My hair was like a hay when it was dry and gummy when it was wet for the longest time. On the 1st day, my hair was slightly more manageable. I used it every other day because my hair was so damaged, but I guess your suppose to use it once a week/month depending on how bad your hair is. On my 3rd use, I was able to brush through my hair without most of my hair falling off and my hair didn't get all tangled/fried looking in the morning....Had this for almost a month and I used it every other day for 2 wks and then once a month after that. My friends could tell it looked much better without me mentioning anything. I was about to give up and chop off my hair, but before you decide to chop it off, give this a try for at least a month and see how much improvement you get like I did. FYI: The shampoo goes 1st, then the smelly one 2nd, and the conditioner last...the 2nd step smells SO bad, but it works so well. If some of your hair falls off from using the treatment, those hair were bound to fall off anyway! Many ppl claim that damaged hair is gone forever, but that is false depending on how damaged it is. This would fix majority of it, but it will also get rid of the ones that are not salvageable. For those who have healthy hair, your NOT suppose to use this that often since too much protein can have an adverse affect and break your hair.
