This band is very effective when performing the pushup variations. For example, I had peeked at performing 100 pushups at 70, I've used this band 4 times and every time I have made it to 100 just by keeping an even cadence in the up down motion, the band is definitely the reason for the success. You can feel the band absorb the strain on the shoulders.

While I didn’t notice any difference in helping to lift heavier weight I did notice I have no shoulder pain when lifting using this. That’s a win for me
