Very very happy
Sooo, 1st I thought I would save money. I bought a 720 BenQ for about $300. Color was great but very pixeled on 200" screen. So I went big and spent $2000 on the Sony Bravia 1080 preowned. Maybe somthing was wrong but picture was washed out and greenish. So I returned a 2nd projector and gambled on this 4k. Wow, so glad I did. So out of Box, Not very good color. Greenish, dull and too blue at other times. I messed with settings for days until it was so perfect, my entire family even keeps saying, wow this is clear and so beautiful. For the price it's amazing. I'm keeping and Im very happy. I tried to post my settings so you can try to duplicate.

Love it
I’ve had this projector for a few months now, switching between regular daily use and definitely movie nights. Of course most, if not all projectors are going to look better at night or in dark rooms/settings, however this projector can be used at anytime. Also keep in mind your setup (your connected device and screen) plays a huge factor in your image quality. I use a non 4k Apple TV that still pushes out the highest quality content possible. When I use my Plex server, it still shows the quality at 4k even though I know it’s being rendered down. Disney+ still lets me play 4k UHD content with no buffering of any kind. And my screen isn’t even the platinum material I plan to upgrade to at some point. And even with all this, it’s still a phenomenal picture. And that’s coming from someone who is now on their 4/5th projector. I have it connected via Bluetooth to my standing tower speakers. Are the built in speakers usable? Definitely, but they won’t cut it for the “movie experience”. I moved and really wanted to upgrade my setup and quality, and was able to do just that. I definitely recommend this buy, especially now that it’s cheaper than when I purchased it.

Great choice
I bought this projector for a 135” outdoor screen and and it works great for it, paired it with Elite Screen’s Cinegrey 5D. Easy to setup and the 4 corner adjustment works perfectly to fit it the way you want it. Image is clear and bright, colors look the way they’re supposed to be and all around pleased by how it performs.

Good image but flimsy
Image quality was decent but has a to be placed really far away to get a big image. Construction felt like cheap plastic. Noisy.

Bright mode is best
Coming from a 6-year-old BenQ H2550, this is not a huge upgrade for me, but had to do it coz the BenQ just crapped out due to color wheel issue. In my experience so far, Bright mode definitely shows the power of this projector and the pictures are beautiful. Dynamic shifts brightness too much and can be annoying if the movie is not very bright. Eco+ flickers a little bit, hope it's not a defect.

Worthwhile upgrade from my 142X Optoma...
Got a good deal on a refurb/return and figure I'd try it. Looks as new and works great. Had to make a few cable re-adjustments compared to my 142 and got it all worked out. This is about 14' from my 100" screen. The video is a definite, noticeable upgrade from my old 142X. Probably be my last projector purchase.

Returning, too much artifacting/pixelation
Bought this on Prime Day for $899. This had WAY too much pixelation/artifacting in HDR. I hadn't noticed it until I put the projector upside down for ceiling mounting. It wasn't just with sky scenes; even close ups of faces at artifacting in areas with weird colors. My 1080p projector performed better. No amount of adjustments on the projector or AV receiver made a difference, except there was some improvement in the artifacting when I changed the projector setting from HDR to Cinema. However, without HDR, this resulted in very washed out colors. This projector is getting returned. I had made the mistake of going only by expert reviews and not reading the user reviews here until after I had purchased it. There are a lot more complaints with this one than with similar projectors like the Epson Home Cinema 3200.

Es un proyector muy fácil de instalar y de configurar. Imágenes claras y muy bonitas. Yo lo recomiendo y mas y si encuentras en menos de 20,000 pesos mexicanos. Súper oferta. Óptoma es una marca de calidad.

Our last Optoma projector did wonderful for 6+ years but was taken out by a lightening power surge. I was looking at 1080 projectors because they kind of fit the budget, but this one popped up on sale for the same price!!! 4K upgrade did make the most sense. I spent a lot of time reading professional reviews and decided this would fit the bill. So far we are not disappointed. Picture quality is MUCH better than our old projector and is future ready. Overall it’s a basic 4K projector compared to many out there there are no ‘smart’ features on it, but that’s what I wanted. I run everything through an AV receiver, so no need for wireless connections or apps.

Very good picture quality and many options to adjust the image, but Optoma quality control is disappointing. First projector I bought had some dirt on DMD chip. Second unit I got had a color wheel defect (very loud when working). Good job Optoma! I will not get third unit, because Amazon just increased the price from $1299 to $1530. I believe in this price range it's much better to go for BenQ or Epson.

The quality of the image was great until I started seeing these white spots, like snow on black backgrounds. Saw other's saying the dmd chip fails so didn’t take a risk and did a return. Amazon even offered 20% off to keep it,but not risking it
