Buy Screenwriter's Bible - 6th Edition: A Complete Guide to Writing, Formatting & Selling Your Script Updated, Expanded by Trottier, David (ISBN: 9781935247104) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: The Best Book on Screenwriting I've Seen - This is the best and clearest book on screenwriting I have seen to date. The chapter on formatting screenplays is very sensible too. I'm comparing this to "The Hollywood Standard" by Christopher Riley - which is a good book - and "The Complete Guide to Standard Script Formats - Part 1: The Screenplay" by Cole and Haag - which is dated, disorganised and inconsistent (compare the contradictory formatting advice on pages 5 and 11). Trottier's book uses very clear examples of well known and up-to-date films, although he doesn't cover how screenplays are revised during film production; you'll need "The Hollywood Standard" to explain how that works (coloured paper, revision marks, 'A' pages, page numbering, etc.). I'd reserve the Cole and Haag book to the 'interesting reading' category. Review: New version - Excellent book! I am studying screenwriting, and this book is an excellent aid. It's very clear, and easy to understand. I would recommend it to all writers / potential writers of screenplays.

My instincts took me to this book, so very glad I listened.
I am a beginner screenwriter. This is perfect. Helped me loads so far. Simply laid out. Clear language, where screenwriting jargon is ever used it's always explained. So far, highly recommended.
