Sakkas Jayanti Embroidered Rayon Dress

This dress is so cute and easy to wear! I would have given it five stars but this, like many of Sakkas' "one size fits all" dress designs that are not smocked all around like tube tops or loose fitting at the top (i.e. the Batik Dharini and similar "loose top" cuts), are very tight around the bust. This goes for this dress and similar styles/cuts such as the Sakkas Indira and Ramita and similar. I'm a natural 32D and even without a bra this dress pulled across the bust. I was able to adjust the straps and shift it so the front landed in a better position on me and made it work and it is VERY CUTE! Just be prepared to compensate if you are more than a C cup or even a large B...you won't be fitting any kind of bra easily and certainly not a push up!Otherwise it's great and the embroidery is beautiful. The beige color is a wonderful neutral shade...the Cayenne is spectacular deep red...and the purple a deep royal shade...the colors ALL pop! And the rayon is SOOOOO soft and comfortable. You could wear this to a BBQ or casual summer party, but I wear these dresses as "everyday" clothes the same way I'd wear shorts and a tank top or polo...it's just much cuter to wear this in the summer while you can!

I can understand why a few people have said it is smaller in the bust since the usually loose elastic backing is much tighter here and goes around more than the others, and it is most likely due to the fact that this does not have the tie in the back that most Sakkas' dresses have. I still bought the same size I usually do and I personally don't think it's too tight, but the other dresses I've ordered are more loose in the bust.If you do order the Turquoise Blue, just know that it is a bright turquoise. On my screen it looked a little more gray blue which is why I got it, I still love this dress even though it was much brighter than I expected. I only say this because this is the first dress from Sakkas (4th dress) I had come in that didn't come with a color pretty close to the picture on my screen. Perhaps it's just the lightning on this picture in particular, still, I received a ton of compliments on it, so I'm not complaining.Once again, this was purchased with the intention of many uses, the lacing up the front reminds me of something I could wear to renaissance festivals, with a shrug it would be great for work, and it's also just nice to wear around because it is very pretty and it could fit more than just one body type.

Very nice material, I ordered the sm/med and am 5’ tall, pretty short, and it hits me at the knees, which is nice, but it’s very tight in the chest. I am a 36C and it kind of smooshes my boobs. I’m also 3 months pregnant with a pretty big belly bump already, I thought this would be comfy for the summer , but it’s not gonna fit much longer because this material does not stretch. But it’s a very nice material and great summer dress

Right out of the packaging, it's very pretty in spite of being somewhat snug in the chest area. The one thing that I did not realize until I started walking around the house is that the rope cinching it in the front is too heavy for the surrounding material. So you get this weird loop at the bottom of the dress, unless you have absolutely NO slack in the lacing. Doing so removes the cuteness of said lacing. If you zoom into the picture of the black one, you will see the slack that I am trying to describe here.Also, after 2 washes, the rope shredded. It's a good thing I want to replace it with something lighter anyway.

I loved this dress and wish I could keep it. Everything about the dress is great except it is way too small in the chest. I am returning and ordering a different style. I have another Sakkas dress which I love its in this samw size and the chest is perfect. I had to return another style as well due to chest being too small. These dresses are awesome... unfortunately a little hit or miss on fit based on the style.

The feel is soft, the cut is flattering, the embroidery rich looking.The plastic ring adjustments on the straps are cheap, but when they snap I will just sew the two parts of the strap together without the adjustment pieces.BTW the 8011 style is more flattering than this 5011 that I bought at the same time by accomodating my rounder belly better.

Very flattering fit and beautiful color. Only gave four stars because the dress bleeds even when washing in cold water. When the instructions say "wash separately," they mean it. Even so, great value for the price.

This dress is really cute and figure flattering. I wasn't sure if I would like the corset like strings in the front but they're a pretty detail and don't stand out too much. It's a nice soft material and heavy enough so you can't see through it but very light for for summer days! I have a feeling this will be a go to dress for me!

Very flattering and comfortable summer dress! Follow size chart. I'm a size 14 so ordered the plus size. I'm 5'6" and the length of the dress is to the knee. Perfect for a swimsuit cover up or a nice dress to wear with sandals and go out for the day.

Beautiful dress! Embroidery is fine and well done, fit is as expected. Falls just above the knee, with a bit of swing. It's a very light material, but not see through. Overall, I'm super happy with this dress (just wish I didn't have to hand wash it because it died my hands a bit the first time around).

Totally fabulous in Turquoise--please note that the Turquoise does not come with ties, but it's smocked enough that who needs ties? It's simplicity is great and it fits me very well. I love that it has a low back. Think I'm going to have to invest in the purple as well. When I find something I like that looks good on me, I tend to buy one in every colour--and this is just such a dress.
