Homefront Electric Blanket Double Size Dual Control Premium Fleece Fully Fitted Heated Mattress Cover, Dual Control

I bought an expensive Kingsize, fitted Morphy-Richards electric blanket and it worked o.k. until the little knobs on both dual controls broke off. They appear to be made of gossamer and fairy dust. I contacted them to attempt to purchase new power leads but surprise, surprise they don't sell them. So, despite being less than 2 years old they wanted me to buy a new one from them. Yeah,right. So, needing a new one I looked at the reviews on here and decided to buy..... Enter the Homefront Premium King Size, fully fitted, luxury fleece, heated mattress cover with dual controls....(so the bride can once again have her own settings without me having to freeze / overheat as her whim takes her). If Carlsberg did electric blankets.................this would be the one. It was very easy to fit and unlike the large, clunky, not so well placed Morphy-Richards ones, the electrical connections don't 'stab' you in the arms. So that was a good start. It only took a few moments to heat up and glory of glories, it heats the whole bed, not just a little area in the middle and it heats it to a toasty warmth. Not only that but it has two heat zones. One for the body and one for the feet. You can have either on or off so if you just want to keep your tootsies aglow or want them cool while you bake to a turn elsewhere you can do it. It gets better though, because each side of the bed now has 9 heat settings available. If you want the full bore heat go to 9, if you want just a trickle of heat choose a lower setting. It works. It really does. The goodies don't stop there. The blanket has a timer so you can choose when to have the heat turn off. You won't fall asleep and wake up three hours later drenched in perspiration - unless you want to of course. This is simply the best electric blanket I can imagine. Apart from giving you a full body massage while whispering endearments in your ear I don't know what else you would need. It also was a really good price for the apparent quality and specs. I'll come back in a year to let you know if the knobs have fallen off in a Morphy-Richardsesque death dance. Edit on 7th feb. 2013. As I promised I have come back after just over a year and have gone through two pretty harsh winters. Everything I previously posted about this product I re-endorse. It is simply perfect for the job. The fact that you can set the timer for 1, 3, 8 or 12 hours duration and have different heat zone temperatures is just the bee's knees. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

I've used this product for 15 years!! I bought it in 2011 from Amazon and it hasn't missed a beat yet. It's a superb quality underblanket that has kept me warm and cosy through countryside winters in old draughty houses. I cannot recommend more highly - the controls are easy to use, the bed the perfect temperature and the fleecy covering is as comfortable as a 'topper'. My only word of warning after years of use is to be careful with the elasticated skirt when tucking in - I put a hole in mine with over-enthusiastic shoving with fingers. Fnar fnar...!

Lovely fleece electric blanket. Very soft. It fits well and stays in place. Controls are easy to use and understand and are visually clear. My only disappointment is that even using the highest setting of 9 ,the blanket is really only warm after 30 minutes! It certainly does not heat up quickly and cannot be described as being hot. So I can only give 4 stars as for me this is a let down. If a 9 setting is warm then I can't imagine 1 to 8 being warm at all.

When I ordered this blanket, I did so to replace our existing one which was only working on my side....it didn’t bother me that much because I got extra cuddles, lol. Joking aside, I couldn’t see my wife suffer any longer and gave in (despite her turning down my offer of switching sides as she feels the cold more than I do), and bought this for us. It arrived quite quickly, and fits the super king size perfectly. The elasticated skirt can accommodate the thickest or mattresses, and the initial fitting and cable routing is a doddle. Using the blanket is very easy. If you turn the heating off, using the on/off switch; it reverts back to maximum settings for 1 hour when turning back on. The heating is quite rapid, and you’ll enjoy the heat fairly soon! If you go to bed frozen from standing in the kitchen with no shoes on for too long, you can put full heating on and end up turning it off after 10/15 minutes. It really is that effective! The heating increments are nicely spaced too, so in warmer nights you can set it to that perfect number. As impressed as we both were, I was hesitant at writing a review so soon, as durability was a concern for me. I purchased this blanket March 20ᵀᴴ and it has been in service every day since. I’m happy to report that the blanket has performed well, and we are struggling to come up with any negatives. The control is positioned perfectly, and we don’t notice the coils like other reviewers have mentioned. It really has been a Godsend on most days...even if it the setting is on 1(which just takes the chill off the sheets). All in all were quite happy with the blanket. It’s been a joy, and I would definitely purchase this blanket again. ———————— Edit: Another 7 months later and all is as good as the day we bought it. ————————- Edit: It’s been 4 years since we bought this super king size blanket. When we purchase this the price was 79.95, you have to remember that was 4 years ago. Pre covid. But if it was (todays price of) 95.95, then I would make this purchase again without hesitation as the reliability and quality is second to none. It’s about longevity, not price - four years of a near constant cycle and it’s still kept us warm in the harshest of cold days, but let’s just say it’s not about the quality, and it is about the price. Maybe your on a budget. Maybe the pennies do matter, well I would still make this purchase. I would find the extra whatever I needed, because of how well and how durable I know it works. Even at 95.95 for four years is less than £25 a year for absolutely amazing quality. So wether it’s price, practicality or the versatility of this unit, it would be the one I would buy. Yes. It is still going strong. Yes, if it were to break tomorrow I would buy this again. Without any hesitation. Yes, the heat is still as good and as quick as day 1. Feel free to ask me anything. ——————————————- Edit 23/1/23 It’s nearly 5 years since I bought this blanket, 2 months shy in fact. Sadly I have to say it didn’t make the 5 year anniversary - I’ll have to cancel the clowns and the dancing girls. On the right side (as you lay on it staring at the ceiling), the foot warming element has failed. Everything else is working as it should, feet and body is working on the left side, body is working on the right side. It’s a shame as I do suffer with poor circulation and my feet are the worst, but that’s just my luck. To be honest, it’s of remarkable build quality and to last as long as it has is quite surprising. Just wish it failed in the summer. —————————————————————- Edit 21/8/23 We ended up purchasing another super king size, and shortly after bought a new bed with independent elevating sides. Still a super king but in two singles if that makes sense. Anyways, just bought two singles. Lol. I wouldn’t buy another brand to be honest. Would still reccomend!!!

On taking out of packaging, I was impressed with the fleece finish but less impressed with the flimsy skirt. This was reinforced with fitting of the blanket on the mattress as there was no pull and I would not describe the fit as snug leading me to believe there will be movement. Also very disappointed that the controllers do not retain the settings when the blanket is turned off, reverting to the original setting of 9 for both body and feet heat and 1 hour for run time. I bought this blanket for an elderly person who while able to turn the blanket on and off is unable to amend settings therefore this is not ideal. I also tried to disconnect the 'detachable' control on the side that will not be in use and was unable to on this occasion. The blanket was used last night for the first time. Using the top heat settings, the bed was comfortably warm 20 - 25 after being turned on. We then turned it off and the user reported it was comfortable to sleep on. I will update this review after some use

it is really very convenient and pleasant. I do not regret that I bought it despite the high price.

Don’t be fooled like I was thinking this would be a nice thick woollen cover. It’s wafers thin. Also note the power plug is European UK plug. The delivery was soo over priced, makes no sense why just another money grab. It came triple boxed with heaps of wrapping. All in all I got ripped
